In Pokémon GO the event “Sparkling Fantasy” starts on Tuesday. It brings bonuses for XP and candies, a new Mega Pokémon in raids, and a new Shiny in the wild.
What’s new about the event? On the evening of January 4th, Niantic’s team presented the new event “Sparkling Fantasy” with all the details you can expect.
In this overview, we show you when the event starts and ends, which bonuses are active, and which Pokémon will participate.
Event: Sparkling Fantasy – Start, Bonuses, Shiny, Pokémon
Start and End: The event begins on Tuesday, January 10th, at 08:00 local time and is active until Monday, January 16th, at 22:00 local time.
Bonuses:
- You will receive double the amount of experience points when you catch Pokémon with nice, great, or fantastic throws.
- You will receive additional candies when you catch Pokémon with nice, great, or fantastic throws – How many additional candies there will be is still unclear.
- Trainers from level 31 have an increased chance of XL candies when a Pokémon is caught with a good, great, or fantastic throw.
- If you take a snapshot during the event, you can get an encounter with a Fairy or Dragon Pokémon.
- The Collector Challenge “Sparkling Fantasy” rewards you with 50 Mega Energy for Salamence, a Charged TM, and an Instant TM.
- Zekrom, caught between January 10th at 10:00 and January 18th at 10:00, will know the move Fusion Bolt (90 damage in trainer battles, 140 damage in raids and gym battles).
New Mega and Shiny: For the first time, you can battle and catch Mega Salamence* during the event. The Mega Raids start at 10:00 on January 10th.
Additionally, you can find Shiny Dedenne in Pokémon GO for the first time if you are lucky.
Pokémon in the wild: As you know from this type of themed events, the Pokémon you can catch in the wild are changing. Available are:
Clefairy*, Clefable, Jigglypuff*, Dratini*, Togetic*, Marill*, Trapinch*, Vibrava, Swablu*, and Dedenne*. If you are lucky, you may also encounter Viscora and eF-eM*.
Field Research: The rewards for field research during the event include encounters with Clefairy*, Dratini*, Swablu*, Dedenne*, and if you’re lucky, Viscora.
Raids: The raid bosses have also been adjusted to match the event. Here’s what to expect:
- Level 1: Jigglypuff*, Marill*, Dratini* and Swablu*
- Level 3: Flunkifer*, Shardrago* and Dedenne*
- Level 5: Zekrom* (From 10:00 on January 10th)
- Mega Raids: Mega Salamence*
