Pokémon GO is celebrating World Tourism Day and bringing you various bonuses. You can hatch regional Pokémon and enjoy Pantimimi.
When does the event start? The event kicks off tomorrow evening at 10 PM German time. You can take full advantage of the bonuses until October 1st.
The event revolves a lot around regional Pokémon. You will also find them in 5 km eggs. Additionally, there is a brand new regional Pokémon in Europe: Pantimimi, the baby Pokémon of Pantimos.
All about the event for World Tourism Day
What are the bonuses? The event will shower you with numerous bonuses. These include:
- Pantimimi hatches for the first time from 5 km eggs in Europe and can also be shiny there
- All other regional Pokémon will be in 5 km eggs from the start of the event (even after the event ends)
- Shiny Sengo and Shiny Vipitis are coming to the respective regions as shinies. We will get shiny Sengo
- You save a quarter when trading Pokémon
- Turning PokéStops will give you twice as many XP during the event
- There will be new field research tasks during the event
This is important for regional Pokémon: You will not find all regional Pokémon in the eggs. Only the regional Pokémon that can actually be caught in Germany will be available here.
This includes:
- Pantimimi
- Volbeat
- Sengo
- Lunastein
- Grillmak
- Fermicula
This change will be permanent. You will continue to find the regional Pokémon in 5 km eggs even after the event ends.
What do the shinies look like? Shiny Sengo and Vipitis are easily recognizable. However, in Germany, you will only catch Sengo. Instead of red stripes, it has blue stripes.
This is new for your avatar: There will also be new shirts that you can dress your avatar in.
What you need to know about Pantimimi: The baby Pokémon of Pantimos originates from Generation 4 and was one of the few Pokémon, that were still missing from this generation. Many players missed it. Now it finds its way into the game and remains regional.
Things will get interesting with Shiny Pantimos. So far, you can only catch Roselia as evolutions of baby Pokémon in the wild as shiny. Pantimos is also already available as shiny in the wild. It remains to be seen whether it can also be caught as shiny.
The raid bosses are currently not well received in Pokémon GO:
