The first official Pokémon GO event in summer is coming up. It is supposed to take place in Chicago with special highlights.
The one-year anniversary of Pokémon GO is just around the corner and is set to be a big celebration for trainers. In addition to a fire and ice event and cooperative gameplay, there will be the first official PoGO event in the real world. The venue is Chicago. Trainers wishing to participate need to purchase tickets.
Pokémon GO Event in Chicago
There has not yet been an official Pokémon event in the real world. On July 22, 2017, the “Pokémon GO Fest Chicago” starts at Grant Park in Chicago (Illinois, USA). During this festival, there are supposed to be “a lot of special highlights” that attending trainers can look forward to.
However, those who want to participate must get a ticket. Niantic plans to announce more information about this event on June 19 around 7:00 PM. Tickets will then be available on the Pokémon GO website: More information and tickets for the Chicago Fest at pokemongolive.com
Many players are concerned that there will be legendary Pokémon at this event that trainers cannot catch in other parts of the world. It is unlikely that the legendary Pokémon will only be available at a specific location on Earth.
Why we cannot imagine the legendary Pokémon being exclusive to Chicago, we explain in detail here.
What about events in Europe?
In Europe, trainers can look forward to events that are supposed to take place from June to September. The developers did not reveal exact dates during the announcement. The events will take place in Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers across Europe. What exactly these events will look like and what rewards you can expect there remains uncertain.
In Japan, The Pokémon Company is planning a “Pikachu Outbreak” in August. There, the developers are planning a “one-time” experience.
Niantic is expected to announce more information about upcoming events in the coming weeks.
