In Pokémon GO the first event around Generation 6 has started. It brings new spawns, quests, and raids. We provide you with an overview of the event.
How long does the event last? The event around Generation 6 started on December 2 at 10:00 AM local time. It runs until December 8 at 10:00 PM. You have about a week to take advantage of the bonuses.
Due to the event, the first Pokémon of Generation 6 appear in the wild. Additionally, there are other bonuses related to raids and field research.
Quests and Spawns for the Gen-6 Event
These are the new field research: A total of 3 new quests are waiting for you. These include:
- Catch 3 Normal-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Scoppel
- Catch 5 Flying-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Dartiri
- Catch 7 Fire-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Leufeo
All field research includes new Pokémon. So if you haven’t collected enough candies for them in the wild yet, you should complete the field research.
These spawns are available: In the wild, there are numerous new Pokémon from Gen 6. Especially common are Scoppel, Dartiri, and Leufeo. But also the 3 starters Igamaro, Fynx, and Froxy appear now and then. Additionally, eF-eM appears as a wild Pokémon.
You should especially track the starters. So keep an eye on your Nearby list to find the starter Pokémon.
Are there new Shinys? So far, no trainer has reported a new Shiny. So there is no surprise here. You need to focus on the new Pokémon in their normal form before going on a Shiny hunt.
New Raids around the Kalos region
These are the new bosses: Not only in the wild will you find new Pokémon. In the raids, Pokémon from Generation 6 also appear. We show you all the bosses. The Pokémon with a star can be Shiny:

Is the event worth it? Every trainer should take advantage of this event. After all, there are the first Pokémon from Generation 6, which will still be available afterwards but will certainly become rarer.
Unfortunately, there is nothing for Shiny hunters this time, but even these trainers should not miss out on the new Pokémon.
