In the coming days, there could be legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Data mining has found significant hints regarding the coveted monsters.
When a new update for Pokémon GO is released, the developers explain in the patch notes what will change. However, not all changes of an update are always listed there. As soon as a patch is available, data miners get to work and look at what else has changed in the game’s code.
The new update 0.69.0 for Android and 1.39.0 for iOS prepares Pokémon GO for the legendary Pokémon.
Legendary Pokémon in Raids – Lugia Symbol
The data mining from the latest update 0.69.0 – You can find the patch notes here – shows interesting hints about the future of Pokémon GO. The changes found by the experts at TheSilphRoad in the code are presented here:
Legendary Monsters – Hints in Raid Bosses
Get ready for the special monsters that you have been waiting for almost a year. The promised legendary summer is now getting closer and Pokémon GO is preparing for the Legendaries.
It’s still speculation because Niantic has not yet announced an official date. However, the chances of seeing legendary Pokémon soon are good.
- A new attribute for all Pokémon named “IsLegendaryOrMythic” has been added
- An alert is now in the game that gets activated when attempting to send a legendary Pokémon
- There is also an error message when you want to assign a legendary Pokémon to a gym: “DISABLED_LEGENDARY_KEY”
- And a new check for raid bosses named “get_IsEventLegendary” is now also part of Pokémon GO.
Additionally, new images have been found in the code:
- A Lugia that is supposed to indicate when legendary raids are taking place at gyms
- A new “Won” screen that appears over gyms when a legendary raid was successful.
Together with the previously found information about legendary Pokémon and Niantic’s statement that this summer is supposed to be legendary, this is huge news.
Keep in mind that these hints have only been found in the code so far and have not been officially announced.
QR Code Scanner
Many of you have already wondered how Niantic plans to prevent spoofers from participating in events occurring in the real world. For example, the GO Fest on July 22, where participants on-site will receive special tasks.
Now, a QR code scanning function has been found in the code, which must apparently be activated by participants of these events. Spoofers will therefore not have the ability to participate in events without this code.
Exclusive Raids
A new raid type has appeared in the code of Pokémon GO called “Exclusive Raid”. These raids have their own raid invitations or tickets containing details, images, congratulatory text, event time, and even a link to Google Maps for directions.
Whether these raids are for legendary Pokémon or special events will be seen in the future.
These are the main changes found in the data mining of the new Pokémon GO update. We are already looking forward to more information about the legendary Pokémon and hope that Niantic will announce more soon.
