On Pokémon GO, the Environment Week 2022 starts on Wednesday and brings the new Pokémon Kommandutan and Shiny Kikugi. We show you everything about the start, bonuses, and the contents.
What kind of event is this? The Environment Week is an event that runs annually in Pokémon GO. This year, a new Pokémon from the seventh generation makes its debut. New Shinys will also be released. You will be rewarded for moving outdoors.

Environment Week 2022 – Start, new Pokémon, bonuses
When does it start? The Environment Week 2022 starts on Wednesday, April 20 at 10:00 AM local time. The event will be active for a few days and ends on Monday, April 25 at 8:00 PM local time.
New Pokémon: The Pokémon Kommandutan makes its first appearance in Pokémon GO. It is from the seventh generation and belongs to the Normal and Psychic types. It has no evolution.
New Shiny: As a new Shiny, you will find Kikugi during the Environment Week. This Pokémon is from the fourth generation and has been in its normal form in the game for a while.
The bonuses: During the Community Day on April 23 with Velursi , a limited research will take place. In each stage of the research, you should walk one kilometer. As a reward, you will receive Kikugi. For every trainer who walks at least 5 kilometers that day, Niantic will plant a tree (up to a maximum of 100,000 trees).
The collector’s task for the event focuses on nature. If you master the task, you will progress toward your top collector medal. There will be a moss lure module and 15 Ultra Balls.
In addition, during the event, you will receive double XP for the first spin of a PokéStop.
Spawns, Eggs, and Researches
Pokémon marked with a star (*) can be found as Shiny.
Wild Spawns: In the wild, you will encounter more frequently:
- Myrapla*, Sleima*, Chelast*, Chelcarain, Kikugi*, Unratütox*, Kastadur*, Kommandutan
- With luck, you will encounter Bisaflor* and Paragoni
Eggs: The following Pokémon can hatch from the 7 km eggs you receive during the event:
- Alola-Digda*, Larvitar*, Kikugi*, Kommandutan
Moss Module: During the event, you will receive a free moss lure module in a box. This attracts the following Pokémon during the event:
- Duflor, Ultrigaria, Endivie*, Chelcarain, Kikugi, Strawickl
- With luck, you will encounter: Alola-Digda*, Blubella, Nincada*
Field Research: Completing field research tasks will yield encounters with:
- Chelast*, Kikugi*, Serpifeu*, Unratütox*, Igamarao or Paragoni
- Also, for some researches, you will receive Mega Energy for Bisaflor or Rexblisar
