These Pokémon from Gen 1, 2, and 3 evolve in Gen 4
In the community, many trainers are already considering which 100% Pokémon and candies to keep. For this purpose, Reddit user Jazzooi21 shared an overview graphic showing the various evolutions.
However, trainers disagree on whether the evolutions function like their counterparts in other Pokémon games. For example, Yanma or Keifel evolve as seen in the image with the help of “Ancient Power”. The evolution of Porygon2 to Porygon-Z requires a Dubious Disc.
Whether these new evolution aids will actually find their way to Pokémon GO, or whether the monsters will evolve using candies, weather, or based on their gender, is still questionable.

CP, are not confirmed by Niantic but are speculations from the community. The max CP of all monsters in Pokémon GO follows a specific pattern from which the data can be derived.

Gen 4 Assessment – Which Pokémon are strong?
According to PokémonGOHub, the meta of Pokémon GO could change significantly with these new monsters. The fourth generation has a lot of potential to provide new best attackers and defenders for gym battles and raids.
Plant
- Tangrowth, the evolution of Tangela, makes an impression with its 3110 CP. Additionally, it can learn Solar Beam, giving it good chances of becoming one of the best Grass Pokémon in the game. While it has lower attack than a Lanturn, it does have significantly more hit points.
Ice
- Mamoswine, the evolution of Piloswine, has strong stats (247 attack, 220 stamina, 157 defense) and thus a max CP of 3289. If these values remain as they are, Mamoswine will rise to the top of the Ice Pokémon and overshadow attackers like Articuno.
Electric
- Electivire and Magnezone are good additions to the Electric pool. Both have higher attack and stamina values than Jolteon, but in battle, they are not as good as Raikou or Zapdos.
Dark
- Sneasal, the evolution of Sneasel, is expected to be used as a glass cannon. You can deal a lot of damage with Sneasal – However, it has only a few hit points, so it goes down quickly.
- Honchkrow, the evolution of Murkrow, has more hit points than Sneasal. It is speculated that Honchkrow will occupy a similar position as Houndoom.
Rhyperior Really that strong?
The leader of our CP table is Rhyperior, the evolution of Rhydon. But as PokémonGOHub explains, this monster is not as strong as it seems. At least not compared to other Ground types. A Groudon at level 28.5 already has better stats than a maxed Rhyperior (level 40).
Compared to other Rock monsters, Rhyperior looks better. It performs better in battle than a Geodude and a Rhyhorn. The battle comparison with Tyranitar is unclear.
