In Pokémon GO, a new Rocket event is approaching. And it’s really worth it if you are looking for strong attackers.
What kind of event is this? It’s called “A World Full of Wonders: Takeover” and is a classic Rocket event. That means:
- There is a special research with Team GO Rocket
- The teams of Grunts and bosses will be changed
- Essentially, the villains will appear more frequently at Stops and in balloons
- Important: You can remove the useless move “Frustration” at the event and thus make your powerful Crypto attackers useful
In addition, there will be field research that will bring you mysterious parts, Charged TMs, Fast TMs, and various Pokémon.
When does the event run? It starts on March 27, 2024, at 00:00 and ends on March 31, 2024, at 23:59.
You should mark this period in your calendar because there are real highlights in the event.
Two powerful Pokémon for your team
These are the highlights: You can snag two of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
- In the special research, you will encounter Giovanni, who will bring Crypto-Groudon. It is already clear that Crypto-Groudon is expected to be the strongest Ground attacker for raids, not counting Mega or Proto forms. So, this monster is definitely worth it.
- You can complete the corresponding special research by June 1 at 09:59. However, it is assumed that Giovanni will generally keep Crypto-Groudon as a monster, as was the case with Kyogre last time.
- Crypto-Mewtwo is one of the top attackers across types. However, the monster will only be available on March 30 and 31 in 5-star Crypto raids, so you should plan accordingly.
Otherwise, the event could also bring exciting monsters. For example, Crypto-Flampion evolves into Crypto-Flampivian, which would be a powerful but fragile attacker. It remains to be seen which monsters the bosses Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff will have. There is always something strong among them.
However, the following new Cryptos that will appear in Grunts are already known. They can also be encountered as Shinys if you are lucky:
- Taubsi*

- Mollimorba*
- Monozyto*

What else does the event bring? There will be a limited-time research during the event that costs 2 US dollars in the shop (likely comparable here). This will give you 6 mysterious parts, a Super Incubator, a Rocket Radar, and an encounter with Gladiantri.
This research must be completed before the end of the event, otherwise it will expire. However, it is generally optional.
