For special holidays celebrated around the world, there are special events in Pokémon GO. After Christmas and New Year were celebrated in the game with bonuses and events, fans are waiting for news about an Easter event 2017. So far, Niantic has not made any statements on this topic. However, based on events from previous years, there are many possibilities for how the developers could entertain their players.

In the latest update 0.61.1, there were changes in the game, but none that indicate an upcoming event. Nevertheless, the trainers remain hopeful and await an announcement for an Easter event. We associate the Easter festival with the search for Easter eggs and candies. In Pokémon GO, there are various ways to implement these aspects during an event:
- Special Pokémon for the Easter Event
- Appropriate for the holiday, the developers could highlight creatures that visually fit the celebrations. Owei would be a great choice, as it consists of a group of six members that resemble eggs with their oval shape.
- Chaneira would be another specimen that would fit the Easter event due to its appearance. It always carries an egg in its pouch.
- During the event, the developers could surprise us with an increased spawn rate of these Pokémon or even their Shiny forms.
- Bonuses for distance eggs during the Easter event
- Many trainers are sure that Niantic is planning bonuses or changes for the eggs. The distance eggs would be well suited for the event and offer various ways to be temporarily improved.
- Magikarp from 2KM eggs: Just recently, during the water festival, it was announced that the Shiny forms of Magikarp in Pokémon GO have been activated. For the Easter event, the developers could allow Magikarp to hatch from 2KM eggs again, thus increasing the chance of Shiny Pokémon for the trainers.
- New Shiny Pokémon from eggs: Perhaps Niantic will introduce new Shiny forms in the game, which only come from eggs and cannot be caught in the wild as Shinies.
- More Pokémon candies: In keeping with the many sweets given out at Easter, there could be bonuses on Pokémon candies of various types in the game.

- Half distances for eggs: The motivation to walk would likely increase dramatically for trainers if the developers halved the distances for the eggs during the event. Instead of 10KM, 5KM, and 2KM eggs, there would be 5KM, 2.5KM, and 1KM eggs.
- Special items for the Easter event 2017
- The incubators had already made a special appearance during a Pokémon GO event. During the Christmas event, there was an egg incubator given for each first activated PokéStop of the day. Possibly, the incubators will also receive a similar bonus for the Easter event, which may even be increased to two charges.
