In June 2018, gifts were introduced in Pokémon GO and since then, research has been conducted on how often certain items can be found. We have prepared the list for you.
This analysis is about: The analysts from TheSilphRoad opened over 150,000 gifts and noted what they received. From that, they created a chart.
From this, you can see what is most commonly found in gifts and which items you can only obtain by luck. Additionally, a few other things have been noted.
These items are in the gifts
What you need to know: In each gift, you receive 3 bundles of items. You can also receive the same bundle three times.
In the following table, we show you which bundles exist and how likely you are to receive them:

What about eggs? You can also receive a 7KM egg from the gifts. However, you will only receive it if you have an egg slot and a slot free in your Pokémon box.
The egg counts just like any other bundle. So if you receive an egg, you will only get 2 additional bundles from the gifts.
If you meet all the criteria for an egg, two-thirds of all gifts will give you an egg.
The most common item: By far, you receive Stardust most frequently from the gifts. According to probability, there are on average 104 Stardust contained in each gift.
Per day, you can open 20 gifts, which means you can receive 2000 Stardust daily according to probability. It is worth it.
This is interesting about evolution items: From the gifts, you can only receive the Metal Coat or the King’s Rock. All other evolution items are not available.
Additionally, these items are by far the rarest to obtain from the gifts.
Does the friendship level influence the items? It does not matter what level you are with your friend, the items remain equally rare. You will not receive better items just because you have a higher friendship level.
