In Pokémon GO, some exclusive charge moves are now available through the “Moon New Year Event“. We will show you which ones are particularly worth it.
What kind of event is this? The Moon New Year
event is an event focused on dragon Pokémon. It runs until Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 8:00 PM. Until then, you still have the chance to catch some dragon Pokémon in the wild, in raids, and in field research.
Additionally, part of the event is a global challenge in which trainers worldwide had to complete 1,000,000,000 good throws together. As a reward for successfully completing this challenge, more Pokémon will appear in the wild, in raids, as well as some exclusive charge moves.
Since the global challenge has now been successfully completed, the new rewards have been unlocked. We looked into which exclusive charge moves are particularly worth it for you.
Some of the strongest charge moves for certain Pokémon
Which charge moves are particularly worth it? Among the unlocked exclusive charge moves, there are mainly 3 moves that are especially worth it for the corresponding Pokémon. These are the strongest charge moves for the respective Pokémon when you want to use them in raids or the battle league.
The first Pokémon with a worthwhile charge move is Garchomp. If you evolve it during the event, it can learn the charge move Earth Power. This is a powerful ground-type move.
With this move, you get the strongest move when you want to use Garchomp as a ground attacker in raids. This move is also recommended if you let Garchomp compete in the Master League.
The second Pokémon that can receive a very strong charge move through the event is Salamence. It can learn the move Outrage. Outrage surpasses for this Pokémon the move Draco Meteor, which is the second-best dragon-type charge move for the Pokémon.
With this, Salamence obtains the best move when you want to use it as a dragon attacker in raids.
Lastly, it is also worth developing an Altaria during the event and acquiring its exclusive charge move. Altaria can learn the move Lunar Blessing during the event. This is a powerful fairy-type move.
This is one of the two charge moves that your Altaria should have if you want to use it in the Super League.
What other charge moves are available in the event? In addition to the mentioned moves, there are also two more that your Pokémon can learn when you evolve them during the event. Libelldra can learn the charge move Earth Power and UHaFnir can learn the charge move Sonic Boom. However, both Pokémon do not play a significant role in raids or the battle leagues.
Can I also learn the exclusive charge moves later? Your Pokémon can still learn these moves after the event. However, you will need to use a Charged TM for this. Since these are very rare and hard to come by, you should take the opportunity during the event if you want your Pokémon to learn the corresponding moves.
