What event is it about? Since August 18, the World Championship event has been running in Pokémon GO, which takes place parallel to the final tournaments of the Pokémon World Championship. While the world’s best players compete for the world championship title in London, you can follow the live event via livestream.
To bridge the two events, Niantic will distribute various promo codes during the livestreams, granting you a limited-time research task as well as an avatar item. We will also embed all codes for you here after their announcement. However, you must be particularly quick when redeeming.

Codes for the Pokémon World Championship – Deadlines & Content
How long do you have to redeem? During the Pokémon World Championship, you can secure various promo codes, which are only valid for a short time. You must redeem them within one hour after their announcement in the livestream to secure the limited-time research.
To give as many people as possible the chance at the research, codes will be posted repeatedly over the various days. However, if you have already secured the research, you unfortunately cannot get it again.
Things are different for the avatar item. There will also be a promo code for this, which will also be shared through the social networks of Pokémon GO. With this, you will receive a blue World Championship T-shirt once if you redeem the code before August 22, 2022, at 11:59 PM UTC, or August 23, 2022, at 01:59 AM German time.
When does the livestream run? The promo codes will be announced during the livestream on Pokémon GO’s Twitch page in the chat. This will start at the following times:
- Thursday, August 18 at 09:30 AM German time
- Friday, August 19 at 09:45 AM German time
- Saturday, August 20 at 09:45 AM German time
What is included in the promo codes? If you secure the codes before the time runs out, you will receive limited-time research on Team Spirit, focusing on battling in the PvP League, as well as a special T-shirt for your avatar.
With the research, you will again have the opportunity to choose between different paths and thus encounter different monsters in the rewards that can be useful in PvP battles.
How to redeem the promo code on Android
If you are using an Android device, redeeming the promo codes is very easy, as you can simply do it in the game. Here’s how:
- Copy the corresponding promo code from this article
- Open Pokémon GO
- Click on the PokéBall in the middle of the bottom half of your screen to go to the in-game shop
- Scroll down to the “Promos” section
- Now just paste your copied code into the white field
- Click on Redeem
How to redeem the promo code on iOS/Apple
In contrast to Android, redeeming on iOS devices is a bit more complicated, as you cannot use the in-game shop. Do the following:
- Copy the corresponding code from this article
- Open the Niantic Rewards website
- Log in there with your game credentials
- Now you can paste and confirm the code
