Pokémon GO: The “Bug Catching Contest” returns today – All bonuses and content

Everything is full of bugs in Pokémon GO! We summarize for you what bonuses and content you can use during the Bug Catching Event.

It has been around in the past years, and it will not be missing in 2024: the Bug Catching Event. As you might guess, it revolves around Bug Pokémon. And there are some bonuses that you should take advantage of.

When does the Bug Catching Event take place? The event starts on April 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM and runs until April 17, 2024, at 8:00 PM.

It takes place during the current season “World Full of Wonders.” You can watch the trailer here in the video:

Bug Catching Event in Pokémon GO – Highlights and Spawns

What are the highlights? Several bonuses will be active during the event.

The most interesting bonus for collectors is likely the increased chance of Shiny Wadribie and Shiny Burmy. Especially Wadribie is a typical collector’s monster, as you need to obtain a female specimen – because only that can evolve into Honweisel. Getting it as a Shiny would be exciting.

In addition, the following bonuses apply:

• Double XP for good, great, and excellent catches
• More candies for the same catches
• And more XL candies for the same catches if you are at least level 31
• If you finish raids with at least two trainers, additional monsters will appear around for 15 minutes after completion

Which Pokémon appear in the wild? Bug monsters will primarily spawn. Possible Shinys include:

• Raupy*
• Hornliu*
• Pottrott*
• Waumpel*
• Zirpurze*
• Wadribie*
• Strawickl
• Lithomith*
• Nincada* (rare)
• Wommel* (rare)

In Raids:

• Level 1: Tannza*, Pottrott*, Nincada*, Pionskora*
• Level 3: Bibor*, Pinsir*, Axantor*
• Level 5: Kapu-Toro*
• Mega Raids: Mega-Glurak X until 04/13 at 10:00 AM, then Mega-Skaraborn*
