In Pokémon GO you can catch Mabula and evolve it to Akkup and Donarion. We show you the requirements in the guide so the evolution works.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Since the start of the Bug Crab Challenge in August 2022, this Pokémon with its two evolutions has been active. Mabula is a bug-type Pokémon from the seventh generation.
For its evolutions, you will need to use candies and a lure module.
Evolving Mabula into Akkup and Donarion – Here’s how
Finding Mabula: First, you need to catch a Mabula. You can find it in the wild, through field research, and also during the catch challenge for the Bug Crab Challenge. In the wild, you can often find it during the event.
It’s best to use strong throws to earn more candies and make the evolution easier. With the activated hyper bonuses, special throws are especially worthwhile for you.
This is how the evolution works:
- To evolve Mabula into Akkup, you need 25 Mabula candies.
- To evolve Akkup into Donarion, you need 100 Mabula candies and must be near an active magnetic lure module.

What is Akkup for a Pokémon? Akkup is of the Electric and Bug types. As fast attacks, it can learn Bug Bite and Spark. As charged attacks, it can learn X-Scissor, Charge Beam, and Bite.
What is Donarion for a Pokémon? Donarion is of the Electric and Bug types. It is the final evolution of Mabula. As fast attacks, it can learn Bug Bite, Spark, and Mud-Slap. As charged attacks, it can learn X-Scissor, Charge Beam, and Bite.
