In Pokémon GO there was a major issue with Black and White Kyurem. Now, developer Niantic says how it will be handled.
What was the problem? Recently, there was an accidental release in Pokémon GO.
- Some trainers received a meeting with Black or White Kyurem as a reward in the PvP League.
- These powerful special forms are not actually in the game – only the normal, weaker Kyurem.
- As a result, Niantic locked the special forms in the League but also reported that they would take a closer look at it.
Now Niantic has decided: The two monsters will be deleted. But affected players will receive compensation.
How Pokémon GO handles Black and White Kyurem
This is what Niantic says: Through the Niantic support channel, the developers reported that the two monsters will be removed again, as it was a mistake. Niantic said: “We will reach out to trainers who were recently affected and offer in-game compensation as an apology” (via X.com).
Furthermore, Niantic apologizes for “the confusion and inconveniences,” according to another post.
What does the compensation look like? Some affected trainers have already posted what compensation they received for the issue (via reddit). It consists of:
- 250 Kyurem candies
- 5 star pieces
- 5 lucky eggs
- 250,000 stardust
What happens next with Kyurem? Black and White Kyurem cannot be obtained again for the time being. It is assumed that there will eventually be a correct release of the two – but it looks like that time has not yet come for Niantic.
As of now, there is only the standard Kyurem to catch. It is still in raids until December 23, 2023.
