In Pokémon GO the event for the 7th anniversary is running with changing bonuses. What bonus is available on 08.07.2023? We summarize everything.
What kind of event is this? Pokémon GO was released on July 6, 2016, and is celebrating its 7th anniversary with a big party in the game. This not only brings special spawns but also rotating bonuses that change from day to day.
This bonus is active on July 8: Today you can snag double the amount of candies when catching. This is very useful if you want to evolve and level up Pokémon. Keep in mind that the bonus also applies to raids. You can also grab double bonuses from legendary bosses in level 5 raids.
- Tip 1: Use a Nanab Berry when catching to double the candies again.
- Tip 2: An active Mega Evolution will also give you extra candies when you catch Pokémon of the same type. An active Mega Blastoise will for example grant you extra candies for Water types. You can find out more in our overview of Mega Evolutions.
What bonus spawns are there on July 8? You can encounter Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip in the wild today. All three starters can also appear in their shiny form.
The bonuses are available from 00:00 to 23:59. Then the next bonus rotates in.

What bonuses are there? Besides the daily changing bonus, there are also some permanent bonuses. These are:
