The date for the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 is now officially set. Additionally, there will be live events taking place in individual cities. You can find all the information here.
When does the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 take place? The Pokémon GO Fest 2022 takes place on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and Sunday, June 5, 2022.
This date is again a global event in which all players can participate. It is expected that it will again be necessary to purchase a ticket for this – however, official information has not yet been provided.
Similarly unknown is what content the GO Fest 2022 will bring.
Live events on-site: After the global event, there will be three additional GO Fest dates taking place in 3 individual cities. These are:
- Berlin, Germany: Friday, July 1, 2022, to Sunday, July 3, 2022
- Seattle, USA: Friday, July 22, 2022, to Sunday, July 24, 2022:
- Sapporo, Japan: Friday, August 5, 2022, to Sunday, August 7, 2022
There will also be a live event in Germany again. Whether it will be exactly the same event as the global version or whether there will be content differences is currently not known.
Additionally, there will be a concluding event on August 27.
What is the Pokémon GO Fest?
What the GO Fest is about: The Pokémon GO Fest is every year the biggest event in Pokémon GO. There is always something interesting on this weekend:
- Last year, for example, on the second GO Fest day all legendary Pokémon of the game could be caught in raids
- In 2020, the focus was on research with Victini and Team Rocket with Crypto-Mewtwo
- Additionally, trainers could unlock bonuses through global challenges during the event
- A hyper bonus in the following weeks was also available
Moreover, there have been exciting spawns like appearing Unown, increased spawn rates, and much more. Some of the GO Fest bonuses could also always be obtained without a ticket.
Back to the live event: With the announcement of the 3 live events, an old system is also returning. The last GO Fests were held as live events on-site in 2019 – after that, it was no longer possible due to the pandemic.
Subsequently, the global events were introduced, which recently defined the GO Fest. This component will remain this year as well.
Recently, Pokémon GO has also taken another direction that corresponds to the earlier game: Community Days are being shortened back to 3 hours. This was not particularly well received in the community.
