In Pokémon GO, data miners have discovered new texts and graphics that include information about 3 costumed monsters and 7 new quests. We at MeinMMO have looked at the findings and will share them with you.
What kind of information is this? In Pokémon GO, the PokeMiners, a group of data miners, regularly check for new data in the game code. They then publicly share these findings with other trainers. Recently, the PokeMiners have found new texts in the game pertaining to quest tasks and 3 costumed Pokémon (via pokeminers.com).
Update from September 21: Fashion Week has started in Pokémon GO and brought some changes. You can now catch new Shinies in the wild or encounter them as loot from eggs or raids. We will show you all the Shinies from Fashion Week 2021 in Pokémon GO here.
In the past, they have often been able to discover new monsters or features before the actual release through their findings. However, the data is not official, so Niantic can change it at any time. Therefore, you should always view the findings with a degree of healthy skepticism.
These are the 3 costumed Pokémon
In a few days, Fashion Week will begin in Pokémon GO. Niantic has already announced that there will be new costumed Pokémon. The PokeMiners have also found the associated images in the game code. As you can see in the following reddit post, this includes Sniebel wearing sunglasses and a wool hat, Smettbo with a gray bow, and Elezeba with a dark collar.
More graphics
In addition to the three costumed Pokémon, the data miners have found more new graphics in the game. You can see the event clothing for your avatar in the previous reddit post:
- a Coiffwaff wig
- a Hoopa bracelet
- an outfit for male and female trainers consisting of sunglasses, a layered jacket, and a wrap-around skirt
Other graphics already refer to the upcoming Halloween. Among the items are:
- a striped Halloween bowtie
- a purple hat
- a flat purple hat
- a pumpkin crown

Texts on the form change feature
According to Niantic, a new feature called form change will also be introduced for Fashion Week in Pokémon GO. Initial texts related to this have been found. These mainly include warnings and error messages. However, one text also gives a hint on how the form change might work.
It states: “To change the form of this Pokémon, you need to make it your buddy and adventure together.” The source code of the game looks like this:

New quests found for Pokémon GO
The PokeMiners have also found 7 new quests in Pokémon GO that are likely related to the fashion event. In 4 tasks, snapshots of specific wild monsters will need to be taken – such as Kirlia or Coiffwaff. The Pokémon vary depending on the task.
Another quest involves battling a fashion challenger. Two tasks revolve around changing the form of a specific number of Pokémon. In the game, the text looks like this:

During Fashion Week, you can encounter so-called fashion challengers at PokéStops. These are other trainers who will challenge you to a battle, similar to Team GO Rocket. The texts shown during these encounters have also been found by the data miners in the game.
In addition to standard texts like “Hm? You want to battle me?”, there will also be event-related texts such as “Pokémon are like fashionable clothes – they bring a spark to your life!” or “But… But my Pokémon are so stylish!” Furthermore, additional placeholders for such texts were discovered (via pokeminers.com).

Texts for the special research “Misunderstood Mischief”
Currently, the Season of Mischief is underway, which revolves around the mysterious Pokémon Hoopa. There is also a special research titled “Misunderstood Mischief”. This challenge is very extensive and, unlike other special researches, is only gradually unlocked. The next part is expected to be released with the Fashion Week event.
The data miners have also found initial hints in the source code for this. These are the texts from Professor Willow. On one hand, these refer to the new Pokémon Coiffwaff. Moreover, the texts specifically mention Hoopa and its unbound form. However, an encounter is unlikely to occur.
Professor Willow says: “Great job catching that Coiffwaff, Trainer! Did you know that there are also other Pokémon known to change their appearance? This includes one we’ve been researching intensively lately: Hoopa.”
Another text that hints at an unbound Hoopa is: “Hoopa is known to have two forms. So far, we have seen it as Hoopa Confined, but I’ve heard that its power increases astronomically when it becomes Hoopa Unbound.” The texts in the game code look like this (via pokeminers.com):

New texts for the Safari Zone
The canceled Safari Zone in Liverpool, Philadelphia, and St. Louis from last year is set to take place in October and November. For this reason, texts for the respective medals have also been adjusted. The current date is now stored there, such as “Liverpool, October 14, 2021”. However, according to the PokeMiners, the medals themselves still carry the 2020 cover.

Further text
Finally, the PokeMiners observed a strange letter in the text that changes with each text update. So far, they have collected the letters A, H, !, and S. They cannot say what this is about and joke in their explanation about the developers: “Did they misspell ASH!” (via pokeminers.com).
