The data miner Chrales has discovered the Sinnoh Stone in the code of Pokémon GO. This is supposed to be a new evolution item.
The data miner Chrales, who recently discovered new Pokémon in the code, has now also found a new evolution item. With this item, some new Pokémon could be evolved.
Sinnoh Stone: This stone could trigger the evolution of various Pokémon from Generation 4. The code describes the stone as “A special stone that was first found in the Sinnoh region and can evolve certain Pokémon species.”
Sinnoh Stone could ease the game
The Sinnoh Stone has not appeared in any of the Pokémon console games, so exact information about its effect cannot be provided.

First seen in a Pokémon copy: The Sinnoh Stone first appeared in the Pokémon copy “Project Pokémon.” This was not an official Pokémon game and is no longer playable.
In this game, the Sinnoh Stone could evolve the following Pokémon:
- Magneton to Magnezone
- Elektek to Elevoltek
- Magmar to Magbrant
- Tangela to Tangoloss
- Togetic to Togekiss
- Rizeros to Rihornior
- Schlurp to Schlurplek
- Sniebel to Snibunna
- Yanma to Yanmega
- Evoli to Glaciola
- Evoli to Folipurba
- Skorgla to Skorgro
- Kramurx to Kramshef
- Kirlia to Galagladi
- Traunfugil to Traunmagil
- Keifel to Mamutel
- Zwirrklop to Zwirrfinst
- Griffel to Ambidiffel
- Schneppke to Frosdedje
- Nasgnet to Voluminas
- Roselia to Roserade
- Porygon 2 to Porygon Z
Whether you can evolve all these Pokémon with the Sinnoh Stone in Pokémon GO remains to be seen. These Pokémon all have pre-evolutions from previous generations and receive an evolution in Generation 4.
Strong Pokémon: Some of these Pokémon will be really strong in Pokémon GO. The best Pokémon of Generation 4 can be found here.
Most important item: If one can evolve so many different Pokémon with this single item, then the Sinnoh Stone would play a significant role in completing the Pokédex. If this stone appears as frequently as the other evolution items, it could take weeks to evolve all Pokémon.
So far just theory: The Sinnoh Stone has only been found in the game code so far. No one knows when it will be released and what impact that will have.
