In Pokémon GO, a new event is coming soon. A dataminer found quests indicating an event for Equinox. We will show you what is currently known.
That’s why an event is expected: The dataminer Chrales found new quests in the code of Pokémon GO. These are listed under “equinox 2019”.
What is Equinox? This word describes the equinox. This is the day when day and night are of equal length. This year, it falls on March 20.
That’s why it’s interesting for Pokémon GO: Niantic likes to hold events on such special days. Since the dataminer has now found quests named “equinox 2019”, one can certainly hope that an event awaits us.
These are the found quests
Here’s what the field research is about: A total of 4 quests have been found. They all revolve around plant Pokémon.
- Catch X Bulbasaur or Chikorita
- Catch X plant Pokémon
- Evolve X plant Pokémon
- Evolve X plant Pokémon (probably a different number)
What kind of event could it be? Further details of the event are not yet known. Looking at the quests, one can be sure that plant Pokémon will take center stage.
This is related: On March 23, the Community Day in March will also take place. This time it’s all about the plant starter Treecko. This also aligns with the plant Pokémon in the event.
What players are hoping for: If it really becomes a plant event, many players hope that Leafeon will be introduced. This Pokémon is an evolution of Eevee with a plant type. So it would certainly fit.
In addition, many players hope for the introduction of Budew and Cherubi. These two monsters from Generation 4 are still missing and are of plant type.
When could the event start? Since the equinox takes place on March 20 in Germany, an event could start then. It remains to be seen when Niantic will inform us about it.
It is possible that such an event may not take place at all, as Niantic has confirmed nothing officially. So far, only quests have been found in the code. Nevertheless, the quests for the year 2019 have been described. It is therefore quite likely that we can look forward to such an event.
