In Pokémon GO, data miners have found new texts regarding upcoming events such as the Community Day with Oshawott and the Safari Zone. We at MeinMMO have looked at what has been specifically found in the game code and share it with you.
What is it about? At regular intervals, the PokeMiners, a group of data miners, search for new information in Pokémon GO. They then provide this data publicly to other players.
New texts for the upcoming events have now been discovered in the game code.
These new texts have been found
In the current search by the PokeMiners, new texts have been found in the game code. These mainly relate to the upcoming events. To make this information available to the public, the data miners have shared their findings on their own site for other players (via pokeminers.com).
We have looked for you at what specific information has been found and have summarized it for you below.
Community Day with Oshawott
A large part of the texts has been found by the PokeMiners regarding the upcoming Community Day with Oshawott on September 19, 2021. As with every Community Day, there will be a special ticket for the Oshawott event. This will grant you a special research quest titled “From Scalchops to Seamitars!”
The name of the research as well as the hints regarding the ticket purchase have already been embedded in the game and have been discovered by the PokeMiners. The research itself will again consist of 4 parts. In addition, there will again be 5 photobombs during the Community Day, and Oshawott will, of course, spawn more frequently in the wild.
Here is an excerpt from the game code:

RESOURCE ID: spawn_oshawott
TEXT: More Oshawott are appearing in the wild
RESOURCE ID: ticket_oshawott
TEXT: Ticket for Special Research story available in the Shop: From Scalchops to Seamitars
RESOURCE ID: quest_title_oshat_3
TEXT: From Scalchops to Seamitars (4/4)
The texts from Professor Willow regarding the special research with Oshawott have also already been embedded in the game. These are the typical phrases that you see when opening and completing special researches, such as “Hello, PLAYERNAME! I had a really surprising sight while walking recently: The trees in the nearby forest were all scarred!” (via pokeminers.com).
New Quests and New Bonus
The PokeMiners have also found texts for four new quests and a new bonus. The quests are related to the Oshawott event as well as Team GO Rocket. You are to catch a certain number of Oshawott. Additionally, there is a task each for evolving Oshawott and Dewott.
For Team GO Rocket, you are to defeat a certain number of their members. The new bonus is all about a rainy lure module event. So far, only the following phrase has been found: “Event Pokémon will be attracted to the Rainy Lure Modules.” Here’s how part of the text in the game looks:
TEXT: Defeat {0} Team GO Rocket members
RESOURCE ID: quest_oshat_evolve_b
TEXT: Evolve {0} Oshawott
RESOURCE ID: lure_rainy_event_bonus
TEXT: Event Pokémon attracted to Rainy Lure Modules
Safari Zone
In the game code, the PokeMiners have now also discovered the first texts regarding the Safari Zone, which they find somewhat odd: “Why not take the time to bond with your buddy?” and “Why not take the time to bond with the other Trainers here?”
The titles of both texts are nearly identical in the source code and only differ by a small “a” at the end of the first ID. The PokeMiners could imagine a branching here and suspect that Niantic has something planned in this context.

More New Texts
Additionally, the phrases “Learn More” and “Tips” have been newly discovered in the game. They are intended to be used for corresponding buttons.

Changes to Existing Texts
Finally, the PokeMiners have found further new or changed texts that are supposed to be related to upcoming features. Some of these texts refer to a name change.
This, as shown in the excerpt from the game code, changes from “Name” to “Nickname.” Previously, it said “You can change your name once” and now it says “You can change your nickname once” (via pokeminers.com).
TEXT: Looks good!
-You can change your name once.
+You can change your nickname once.
Texts for Tutorials
Furthermore, the titles surrounding the tutorials for raids and reviving Pokémon have been adjusted. Instead of “Use your Revives to revive your fainted Pokémon,” it now says “Use Revives to revive fainted Pokémon.”
Another example is the change from the previous wording “Once the Charged Attack meter is full, tap the button to perform a Charged Attack. Charged Attacks cause large amounts of damage” to this text: “Once your attack meter is full, tap the button to perform a Charged Attack, which can deal a lot of damage.”
-TEXT: Use your Revives to revive your fainted Pokémon.

-TEXT: Once your Charged Attack meter is full, tap the button to perform a Charged Attack. Charged Attacks cause large amounts of damage.

In the past, the PokeMiners have often been able to find information before the actual release, which have then been implemented just like that. However, you should always view such findings with a healthy dose of skepticism.
This data does not constitute official information. Therefore, Niantic can make changes at any time or decide against a release.
How do you like the new information that emerges from the texts? Do you believe that Niantic has something special planned due to the different titles related to the Safari Zone? Feel free to share your opinion with us here, on MeinMMO, in the comments.
