Pokémon GO has announced an event for Valentine’s Day. In their newsletter, they talk about pink Pokémon that will appear.
What happened? The Valentine’s Day event in Pokémon GO has been a staple of the game for two years now. The event returns in 2019 as confirmed by Niantic in their own newsletter.
During the event, pink Pokémon are waiting for you, along with other bonuses that Niantic will announce later.
What we know about the Valentine’s Day event 2019
What does the newsletter say? There aren’t many insights yet, but Niantic writes: “Collect Poké Balls and activate Adventure Sync, because to celebrate Valentine’s Day, pink Pokémon will appear in Pokémon GO! Keep an eye out, as more news will follow regarding this special event.”
When does the event start? There is no exact start time yet, but the event may directly follow the current event. The Lunar New Year event ends on February 13 at 10 PM. Since Valentine’s Day is already on February 14, it would make sense for a direct continuation. However, this is not confirmed.
Which Pokémon could be involved? From the last two years, we know that pink Pokémon are lurking on Valentine’s Day.
We have created a list of all pink Pokémon for you. These Pokémon do not necessarily have to appear more frequently, and it is not confirmed that these monsters will also be part of the event.
- Pii, Pipie and Pixi
- Fluffeluff, Pummeluff and Knuddeluff
- Flegmon, Lahmus and Laschoking
- Owei
- Schlurp and Schlurplek
- Chaneira and Heiteira
- Pantimos
- Porygon
- Mew (probably will not be part of the event)
- Waaty
- Hoppspross
- Snubbull
- Corasonn
- Kussilla
- Miltank
- Flurmel
- Eneco
- Milotic
- Liebiskus

These Pokémon are not yet in the game but could come for Valentine’s Day since they are pink:
- Saganabyss
- Schalellos and Gastrodon
- Kikugi and Kinoso
- Pantimimi
- Wonneira
This is why new Pokémon might come: Especially the release of the Baby Pokémon Pantimimi and Wonneira is likely. They were already seen in an image that Niantic released earlier this month.
Many players also expect the release of Kikugi and Kinoso. These Pokémon from the 4th generation are also pink and could be released at the right time.
Could there also be special bonuses? In their newsletter, Niantic talked about “more news.” There may also be additional bonuses related to the event. In 2017, there were double candy rewards and in 2018, there was triple stardust for catching Liebiskus. A bonus in 2019 is therefore not unlikely.
Until the end of March, you also have the chance to get Shiny Meltan. It’s really that rare:
