What is the Lake Trio? The Lake Trio consists of the legendary Pokémon Vesprit, Selfe, and Tobutz. The name “Lake Trio” is derived from their habitat. In the console games, they were each found in a cave in the middle of their respective lakes. Vesprit, Selfe, and Tobutz are regional monsters in Pokémon GO and therefore cannot be caught everywhere.
When will the Lake Trio come to the raids? From September 14, 2021, at 10:00 AM local time, you will find the Lake Trio in Level 5 raids. You will have the opportunity to catch them until October 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM local time.
In Germany, you can encounter only Vesprit during this time. If you want to get Selfe and Tobutz as well, you can be invited by friends from the respective regions through remote raids. You can find Selfe in Asia and the Pacific. Tobutz will dominate the raids in America and Greenland.
The best counters against Vesprit, Selfe, and Tobutz
Both Vesprit, Selfe, and Tobutz belong to the 4th generation of Pokémon and are of the Psychic type. Thus, they are all weak against the attacks of the Dark, Ghost, and Bug types. You should take advantage of this weakness and choose appropriate monsters for your team.

Is the Lake Trio worth it in Pokémon GO?
Even though all three monsters belong to the Psychic type, they differ based on their values in the game. Vesprit can only show average values overall. In contrast, Selfe can excel in defense. However, these two are less suitable for use in raids or the PvP League (via pvpoke.com).
The best of the three monsters is Tobutz. Due to its particularly strong attack value, it is among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. You can use it without hesitation in raids. However, for use in the PvP League, it is considered unsuitable according to PvPoke (via pvpoke.com).
Since the three monsters can be caught in their shiny forms in the game for the first time, shiny hunters will be particularly pleased. But all others should secure an entry in the Pokédex. By participating in remote raids, you can be invited by friends and thus obtain the complete Lake Trio.
