We will tell you how to best defeat the monster and show you everything you need to know about Cresselia.
The best counters against Cresselia
Cresselia is a legendary Psychic-type Pokémon. Its weaknesses are Ghost, Dark, and Bug types.
Since Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type Pokémon are effective, you can rely on many of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. With the help of the overview from Pokebattler, we show you the best counters against Cresselia (via pokebattler.com):
| Pokémon | Moveset |
| (Shadow) Snorlax | Body Slam and Crunch |
| (Shadow) Mewtwo | Psycho Cut and Shadow Ball* |
| (Shadow) Chandelure | Hex and Shadow Ball |
| (Shadow) Houndoom | Fire Spin and Snarl |
| (Shadow) Scyther | Fury Cutter and X-Scissor |
| (Shadow) Banette | Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball |

(*) Mewtwo’s Charged Attack Shadow Ball is a special event attack. Therefore, you can only learn it with a Charged TM. Shadow Pokémon also have the Charged Attack Frustration, which can only be changed during certain events.
Other alternatives against Cresselia
If you don’t have any of these Pokémon on your team, you can also rely on other alternatives. The following monsters are also suitable against Cresselia:

- (Shadow) Absol with Snarl and Foul Play
- Gengar with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
- (Shadow) Drifblim with Charge Beam and Shadow Ball

- Mega-Gengar with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
- Mega-Houndoom with Snarl and Crunch

What you need to know about Cresselia
How many trainers do you need? To defeat Cresselia, you should have at least three people and the best counters. We recommend having one or two additional trainers for a more relaxed gameplay experience. That way, defeating Cresselia should not be a problem for you.
What about the shiny? Cresselia is also available in its shiny form in the game. In a legendary raid, the chance of getting a shiny is about 1 in 20. So if you raid more actively, you have good chances of getting a shiny Cresselia.
These are Cresselia’s stats:
- Max CP: 2857
- Attack: 152
- Defense: 258
- HP: 260
How strong is it? Cresselia is not a good attacker. Its stats are very bad for a legendary Pokémon. It is much more of a Pokémon for defense. However, this is not possible in Pokémon GO, as you cannot place legendary Pokémon in gyms.
In the PvP League, however, Cresselia is an interesting Pokémon. Especially in the Ultra and Great League, it can shine according to PvPoke and is among the top (via pvpoke.com).
100 % IV Cresselia: In raids, you should look for a Cresselia with 1633 CP. This is one with 100 % IV. In windy weather, Cresselia is boosted and can reach a maximum of 2041 CP in raids.
Cresselia’s moves:
- Fast Moves: Psycho Cut (Psychic), Confusion (Psychic)
- Charged Moves: Future Sight (Psychic), Moonblast (Fairy), Aurora Beam (Ice) and the event move Grass Knot (Grass)
