In Pokémon GO, it seems that shiny offspring will be available soon. Three more shiny forms of Castform have been found. Particularly interesting: these forms have never been catchable in any console game before.
These forms are: The normal form of Castform is already available as shiny. All other forms, namely the sunny, snowy, and rainy forms, are not yet available in the game.
In general, these shinies are not present in any of the previous Pokémon games. Only in Pokémon Home, the cloud service for Pokémon, can these three forms be obtained.
Now all three shiny forms have also appeared in the game files of Pokémon GO. This doesn’t necessarily mean they will arrive shortly, but Niantic can essentially just flip a switch and the three shinies will appear in the game.
Shiny Castform through new event in the game?
When could the Castform come? The three new shiny forms are a showcase of Pokémon Home. The cloud service was announced months ago for Pokémon GO, but so far the connection between the two platforms has not worked.
Players are now speculating that this connection might be coming soon and Niantic could celebrate it with an event around shiny Castform. Such an event also took place at the release of Let’s GO Eevee/Pikachu. Back then, Eevee and Pikachu appeared more frequently in the wild. It could be similar with Castform now.
When and if this connection between Pokémon GO and Pokémon Home will work is still unknown.

Rain and sun are available in almost all regions of the world, but the snowy Castform is already making trainers sweat. Especially in southern regions where it usually doesn’t snow year-round, the snowy Castform could pose problems. How should one find the monster when it never snows in the game?
While the snowy Castform can also occur during fog in the game, this is by far the rarest weather condition in Pokémon GO and is also unlikely to offer the chance of encountering the snowy Castform.
Trainers like jostler57 hope on reddit therefore: “We in Taiwan never get a snowy Castform, so I hope that all forms will be available to us through some kind of shiny event.”
