It has been confirmed: A teaser for the big GO Fest 2021 was shown on the official Twitter channel of the game. There is a shadow of a Pokémon visible, accompanied by a few music notes and the GO Fest logo.
The clearly recognizable shadow was immediately identified by trainers as Meloetta. This monster is a mysterious Pokémon – such as Victini, which you were able to catch at the past GO Fest 2020.
A complete quest was dedicated to Victini at the past GO Fest, which was one of the highlights of the event. It is quite possible that Meloetta will receive similar treatment and will be catchable through a special research.
What kind of Pokémon is Meloetta?
This is Meloetta: Meloetta is a mysterious Pokémon of the Normal and Psychic type, introduced with the fifth generation of the main games. It has neither an evolution nor a pre-evolution, but it has an alternate form. It can switch from “Singing Form” to “Dancing Form,” changing its Psychic type into a combat type.
Whether this special feature will be introduced directly with Meloetta remains to be seen. Other shape-shifting Pokémon like Deoxys received their different forms only over time, which then had to be caught separately.
That’s why Meloetta fits into GO Fest 2021: GO Fest 2021 has a clear music theme. Among other things, “musical Pokémon” will appear in the wild. You can also choose between Rocker and Pop-Star Pikachu, thus deciding what type of music plays during the event in the game.
The singing and dancing Meloetta also fits in. According to PokéDex entries from the main games, it can captivate anyone who hears its melodies.
