In Pokémon GO there was a compensation for a faulty raid from the past, but only if you were very quick.
What raid is it about? In January 2024, there was Boreos as a 5*-raid in Pokémon GO. This Pokémon should also have been available as Shiny in the raids, which Niantic unfortunately did not set up correctly and subsequently addressed.
In their statement, Niantic also promised to compensate affected players. This compensation is now available in Pokémon GO. Unfortunately, there were again problems, just like with the raid for which the compensation was intended.
Compensation disappears so quickly that many trainers do not receive it
What is the problem? The compensation box was available for the affected players in the shop. Unfortunately, many players were not quick enough to redeem it. The box disappeared an hour after it became available. Too fast for many trainers to redeem it.
Another problem regarding the box concerns its content. While the box, which could be redeemed 3 times, contained 3 premium battle passes and 1 remote raid pass each, many trainers could not redeem it due to reaching the maximum of remote raid passes in their item bag. This maximum is 3 remote raid passes. If trainers had already reached this maximum, they could not redeem the compensation box.
What does the community say about it? On Reddit, many trainers are complaining about the way the compensation was conducted and the rapid disappearance of the box. Here are some of the comments:
It’s funny that you can’t claim the box if you already have 3 remote raid passes in your bag, even though the daily limit is 5, and when you actually do a remote raid to lower the number, the box disappears
, writes the post creatorI didn’t even see it
, is another commentI did 3 remote raids as fast as I could to get them, but unfortunately when I finished, they had disappeared from the shop and I lost 3 raid passes because of this
, notes another trainerWhen I wanted to redeem it, an error message appeared, and it disappeared
, is another comment
It remains to be seen whether and how Niantic will respond and whether the affected trainers will get another chance to redeem their compensation.
