Pokémon GO: Community is outraged by a new mechanic – “is a bad joke”

During the Pokémon GO Fest 2024, there were many contents along with a new mechanic in the game. However, this causes frustration in the community.

Last weekend, the great global GO Fest 2024 took place in Pokémon GO. Here you could find many wild Pokémon, some bonuses, and also the Ultra Beasts as well as the legendary Pokémon Necrozma in raids.

For Necrozma, the fusion was introduced, allowing you to fuse Necrozma with either Solgaleo or Lunala. And this mechanic is causing frustration in the community.

Too much energy, recurring costs

What is the problem? If you want to perform the fusion of Necrozma, you need not only some candies and Solgaleo or Lunala but also the so-called fusion energy. However, last weekend, the amount of fusion energy required and the small amount available in raids caused frustration.

While there was enough fusion energy for a fusion for trainers who purchased the ticket for the GO Fest, these trainers also had to raid to get enough energy for the second fusion.

Trainers without a purchased ticket had to complete many raids just for the first fusion. While only between 80 – 140 fusion energy was available per raid, 1,000 fusion energy is required for a fusion.

For some trainers, this was reason enough to skip the fusion and save their raid passes.

What else causes frustration? Once you have performed the fusion, the state of the fused Pokémon lasts permanently. However, if you dissolve the fusion, for example because you want to retrieve your Solgaleo or Lunala for other purposes, you have to provide the fusion energy again.

Some trainers from the community have previously assumed that a subsequent fusion would not require fusion energy, as is the case with Mega Raids.

The fact that fusion energy is needed again and that there is currently no way in the game to obtain it causes frustration in the community.
