In Pokémon GO you have many different ways to obtain Pokémon. Whether it’s through catching, raids, or Team GO Rocket. Another option is hatching eggs. However, the current content of the 7 km eggs is not well received by the community, which demands new monsters. MeinMMO shows you what it’s all about.
What happened? Currently, the 2nd Hyperbonus is running in Pokémon GO. You earned this as part of the Pokémon GO Fest 2021. This event revolves around the theme of space, which is why you can find various regional Pokémon in the wild and in raids.
The 7 km eggs have also been adjusted by Niantic in this context and now include some Pokémon that you usually cannot get in Germany. These include western Schalellos, Barschuft (Blauling), and Fermicula.
However, the community of Pokémon GO is not happy with this selection and is calling for a new approach regarding the content of the 7 km eggs.
Unlike the other eggs in Pokémon GO, you cannot obtain the 7 km eggs by spinning at gyms or PokéStops. You can only receive them from your friends by opening their gifts. As with all other eggs, you must, of course, have enough space for a new egg in your inventory.
The community demands
The Pokémon GO community is venting about the content of the 7 km eggs on Reddit at the moment. One reason is that these monsters are rather weak. As a result, they often cannot be used in raids or the PvP league.
For example, twboi refers to the content of the eggs as rubbish and sees only shiny potential in Fermicula and Furnifraß (via reddit.com). Other trainers also agree and have already formed a clear vision of what Niantic could do differently.
Regional Pokémon
Some, including IOnlyEatPizzaRolls, have generated friendships from abroad in the hope that these gifts contain Pokémon that are anchored in the respective region (via reddit.com).
Not all monsters can be caught everywhere in the world. Some are only found in certain regions and thus very rare for trainers who do not live there. For example, you can catch Tauros only in North America, Qurtel in South Asia, or Symvolara in Egypt and Greece.
For this reason, there is repeatedly a wish expressed on Reddit that Niantic should introduce this possibility. This way, the community could also obtain monsters that are not usually available in the respective region. The Reddit user Stealingyourthoughts reports that she only needs Tauros for a complete PokéDex of the Kanto region (via reddit.com).
Function to delete eggs
Other Reddit users, on the other hand, are calling for the introduction of a trash can for eggs. For example, robeee98 writes: “My bag is full of 7 km eggs, even with the additional 3 slots. I wish they had included a function to delete these eggs.” (via reddit.com).
OzLife_VetTech also welcomes this suggestion and believes that this change would provide a special incentive to spend coins on incubators (via reddit.com).
