On Pokémon GO, the Community Day with Magmar begins on November 21. We provide you with an overview of the start time, Shiny Magmar, and the exclusive move.
What is a Community Day? Once a month, the Community Day takes place in Pokémon GO. However, there is an exception in November, as there are two such events with Elektek and Magmar. Elektek had its day this past weekend – now it’s Magmar’s turn.
During several hours, Magmar will be in the spotlight, and special bonuses will round off the event. Especially the numerous Shinies are a highlight.
Note that there is currently a risk of contracting the coronavirus. The Federal Center for Health Education recommends staying home as much as possible, keeping distance from others, and avoiding crowds.
All information about the Community Day in November 2020 – Start time, bonuses
When? On Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.
Pokémon of the day: Magmar will appear more frequently in the wild
Exclusive move: Thunderbolt
Bonus: Distance to hatch eggs reduced to a quarter
Bonus: Three-hour duration of incense
Bonus: You can evolve Magmar up to 2 hours after the event to have Magbrant learn the move Thunderbolt
Bonus: Magby will hatch from 2 km eggs that you get during the event
Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, Community Days last for 6 hours, and you can enjoy them comfortably from home. For this, Niantic has also released appropriate bonuses. So you don’t have to go outside to play effectively.
What you can buy: Just like with Elektek, you can also buy a ticket for one euro this time, which gives you items worth much more. In addition, there is a special box available in the shop:
- The Community Day box for Magmar includes a Premium Raid Pass, 3 Super Incubators, 3 Lucky Eggs, and 30 Ultra Balls. It costs 1280 coins.
- The 1€-ticket is already available in the shop and is named “No Problem for Magmar”
- These rewards come with the 1€-ticket “No Problem for Magmar”
How to make the most of the event
Make these preparations: Collect items beforehand, as this will allow you to play comfortably from home or have no problems even when out and about. We recommend a minimum of 300 balls.
Use these tips while playing: Anyone wanting to catch Pokémon quickly should use the catch trick. This skips the catch animations and makes you much faster.
You can also hatch eggs from home – this can be done, for example, during home workouts.
If you’re catching particularly many Pokémon, use a Star Piece. This will give you more Stardust per Pokémon and is worth it. You can accumulate Stardust, to later power up your Pokémon to level 50.
Finally, be sure to use an incense. This item is currently very strong and attracts a lot of Magmar.
What does the exclusive move bring? If you evolve a Magmar into Magbrant by 7:00 PM on November 21, it will learn the move Thunderbolt.
This move is interesting for PvP fans. It will make it more versatile in the league and can surprise some opponents. However, it won’t be a massive improvement for Magbrant, as the monster doesn’t play a significant role in the PvP league anyway.
For raids or gym battles, this move brings nothing, as Magbrant isn’t a strong attacker and has no use for Electric-type moves.
Shiny Magby, Magmar, and Magbrant
Are there Shinies? Yes, you can catch Shiny Magmar in the wild during Community Day and get Shiny Magby from 2 km eggs. We show you the shiny versions:
What is the Shiny chance? During Community Day, you generally have a Shiny chance of 1 in 25. So it should be the same for Magmar. You have the best chances.
During Community Day with Elektek, the chance for Shiny Elekid was also increased. So you can expect that the chances for Shiny Magby from eggs are also increased.
What do you think about the 2nd Community Day in November? Too many events or just great? If you can’t relate to this, you can look forward to the big GO Beyond update, which will be rolled out in December:
