Today marks the Community Day in November in Pokémon GO. Many bonuses await you on the Cyndaquil Day.
What are Community Days? For several months now, Niantic has been hosting the Community Day once a month. Each Community Day focuses on a special Pokémon. This Pokémon can be encountered more frequently in the wild and there is also a chance to find its shiny form.
In addition to the Pokémon, there are also other bonuses for players. The last Community Day featured the Pokémon Tanhel.
This November focuses on the Fire Starter Cyndaquil. We will now show you everything you need to know to be well prepared today.

What does GMT+0 mean? As always, Niantic announced the Community Day at 10 AM GMT+0. However, this is not the German timezone. Our timezone during winter time is GMT+1. Therefore, the Community Day starts as usual at 11 AM German time.
Shiny Cyndaquil, Quilava and Typhlosion
Is there a Shiny Cyndaquil? On Community Days, each event Pokémon could previously be caught in its shiny form. Therefore, it’s also expected that Cyndaquil will appear as a new Shiny in the game in November.
Chance for a Shiny is high: If you play the full three hours of the event, then you can expect to catch a shiny Cyndaquil. You would have to be very unlucky not to catch one. The probability of encountering a shiny Community Day Pokémon during the three hours is 1 in 25.
Typhlosion with Flamethrower – How strong is the move?
How to get Typhlosion to learn Flamethrower? To have your Typhlosion learn the exclusive move Flamethrower, you must evolve it during the Community Day. There is a specific time window for evolutions. This means you can evolve your Quilava until 3 PM so that it knows Flamethrower.
Typhlosion gets stronger: The new move makes Typhlosion stronger. However, it is not as strong as some other Fire Pokémon. So if you want a strong Typhlosion, you should definitely evolve one with Flamethrower.
100% IV Cyndaquil – Max CP for Typhlosion
In this weather, Cyndaquil becomes stronger: As Cyndaquil is a Fire type, you will receive a bonus during sunny weather.
How strong will Typhlosion get? A Typhlosion can reach a maximum CP of 2686. Its stats are identical to those of Charizard. However, Charizard can learn better moves and therefore has the advantage over Typhlosion.
100% IV Cyndaquil in the wild: To make the most of Community Day, catch as many Cyndaquil as possible and evaluate them only in the hour after Community Day. To do this, enter the following list into your search bar in the game and you can see if you caught a possible 100% IV Cyndaquil. Other IV combinations with these values are also possible.

Item Preparation for Community Day
- Lucky Eggs – 6 pieces
- During the Community Day, by using a Lucky Egg, you will receive six times the amount of experience points for catching Pokémon. With these stardust tricks, you can take full advantage of the event.
- Incense – 6 pieces
- Incense is worth it in areas where not many Pokémon spawn. You additionally attract Pokémon that you can turn into stardust and experience points.
- Lure Modules – 3 pieces or more
- Coordinate with your gameplay partners and activate Lure Modules at as many PokéStops as possible. This will attract even more Pokémon to you, and you will also increase your chances of catching shiny Cyndaquil. The modules last for three hours, which is another reason to activate as many of them as possible.
- Poké, Super and Ultra Balls – at least 200 pieces
- Collect enough balls for Community Day ahead of time. During those three hours, Pokémon spawns are increased and you’ll throw a lot of balls. Also, Cyndaquil is a Pokémon that tends to break free. So having a good stock of balls is beneficial.
- Pokémon GO Plus – 1x
- GO Plus assists you in catching. If you want to take a break, or if you simply feel overwhelmed with Pokémon, use the GO Plus and it will catch Pokémon for you. For the next Community Day, the Pokéball Plus could also be something for you.
