What is the Community Day? Once a month, this event takes place in Pokémon GO. During this time, a Pokémon and a handful of bonuses are the focus for a few hours.
In October 2020, Charmander is in the spotlight. The Fire-type Pokémon from Generation 1 landed in second place in a player poll and therefore appears as a Community Day special. The winner, Porygon, had its Community Day in September 2020.

When? On Saturday, October 17, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.
Pokémon of the Day: Charmander
Exclusive Attack: Fire Spin
Bonus: Triple Stardust for catching Pokémon
Bonus: Three-hour duration of incense
Bonus: You can evolve Charmeleon up to 2 hours after the event, so Charizard learns the attack Fire Spin
Since the Corona pandemic, Community Days in Pokémon GO last 6 hours. You don’t have to stand at your stop with many other players at 11 AM, but can spread the event throughout the day.
You can continue to evolve Charmeleon up to 2 hours after the event so that Charizard learns the attack Fire Spin.
There are two things to buy: A Community Day Box for 1280 coins and a ticket for just under €1 that unlocks tasks for the event.

How to make the best use of the event
Prepare properly: It is advisable to collect some balls before the event. Because during the 6 hours, you will encounter several Pokémon – at home and on the go. We recommend having at least 300 Poké Balls in your inventory. But even more is better.
If you want to make the most of the bonuses, catch as many Pokémon as possible.
With the catch trick, you can catch monsters in Pokémon GO faster.
Enhance the bonuses with items: Of course, triple Stardust while catching is a strong bonus. But with Star Pieces, you can increase this further.
If you want to earn some experience points during the event, you can use a Lucky Egg. In combination with Level-ups with friends bring you a lot of XP.
Also, keep in mind that you can now stack consumables like incense and Star Pieces. So, at the start of the event, you can use 2x incense and as many Star Pieces as you want. Then you won’t have to keep checking the countdown during the event.
Shiny Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard
These are the Shinies: Yes, you can catch Shiny Charmander during the Community Days in October. The shiny version has been in the game for a long time and has cool evolutions. Many trainers are especially looking forward to the dark Charizard.
What is the Shiny chance? We assume that the Shiny rate for Charmander is also 1 in 25. This is usually the case during Community Days.
