In Pokémon GO on Sunday, September 18, 2022, the Community Day featuring Klang will take place, where you can look forward to plenty of bonuses. We from MeinMMO have looked into what content awaits you and we will tell you how to make the most of the event.
What event is it about? Pokémon GO hosts a so-called Community Day each month, where they spotlight a specific Pokémon, which can then be found almost everywhere. Additionally, the shiny rate is increased, giving you a better chance to encounter a shiny version. Various bonuses are also set to round off the event.
On Sunday it’s time again and you can look forward to a Community Day featuring Klang. We have summarized all bonuses and special features of the event for you below. Additionally, we show you how to make the most of the day and if the event is worth it.
Community Day in September 2022 – Start and Bonuses
When? Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time
Pokémon of the day? Klang
Exclusive move: Meteor Beam when you evolve Sedimantur into Brockoloss (up to 5 hours afterward)
Bonuses:
– Incense lasts 3 hours
– Lure modules last 3 hours
– Eggs hatch 4 times faster
– double candy when catching
– double chance for XL candies when catching (from level 31)
– surprises in snapshots
– event stickers from gifts and at PokéStops
Additional bonuses from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time:
– 50% less stardust cost when trading
– one additional special trade (2 total on this day)
As in the last months, the Community Day featuring Klang will also last over 3 event hours. Most of the bonuses will only be available during this time. Only the trading bonuses can be used until 10:00 PM local time.
Special raid battles: Following the Community Day, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time, you can encounter special level 4 raids, where you can battle Sedimantur, the first evolution of Klang. We will show you the best counters against Sedimantur here.
Participation is only possible on-site. You can only play with raid passes and premium battle passes. Remote raids do not work. Once you defeat the raid boss, you secure additional Klang spawns within a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes that offer you the same shiny chances as during the main C-Day.
What event content is available in the in-game shop? If you want to secure more content around the Community Day, you should check out the in-game shop. The following specialties are available for you:
- Event ticket for the special research “Rock’n’Roll” focused on Klang for 1 Euro

How to make the most of the Community Day featuring Klang
How you can prepare: To avoid suddenly facing a space issue in your Pokémon bag during the Community Day, it’s best to sort it out well in advance. It’s a good idea to use the filter function of Pokémon GO.
By entering “0*,1*,2*” you can specifically display all Pokémon with two or fewer stars. If you still need to sort during the event, you can add the input “Age0” to see only Pokémon that are not older than 24 hours.
If you want to pre-sort your Pokémon, you can also create a corresponding tag and assign the Pokémon there. You just need to click on the category “Tags” located to the left of the Pokémon, to add a new tag via the “+”.
After that, you can easily assign your Pokémon to this tag through the Pokémon view. This way, you can also send the Pokémon later, for example during the event, all at once.
However, space in the Pokémon bag is not the only thing you should prepare for now. You will also need some items during the event. It’s best to acquire these in advance.
These items can be useful for the Community Day featuring Klang
Balls: First and foremost, you will obviously need balls on this day, as you can’t catch Pokémon without them. If you want to play throughout the entire event, be sure to have at least 200 balls available, so you won’t need to restock immediately.

Incense & Lure modules: As in previous months, the lure modules and incense will last 3 hours each during the Community Day featuring Klang. So it’s sufficient to have one of each in your inventory. If you want to set up multiple stops nearby with lure modules, you will need more.
Sananaberries: If you want to earn a lot of candies from Klang, it’s best to use Sananaberries while catching. They double your candies. However, you will still receive 6 candies even without using the berry due to the bonus.
Hatchers: Since your eggs will hatch 4 times faster during the event, it’s a good idea to place eggs with a high hatch distance in the hatchers. If you have additional hatchers besides the endless hatcher, you should definitely use those as well.
Due to the Steel Event that takes place alongside the Community Day, you might also find new content in the 7 km eggs. With some luck, you could hatch the fighting Pokémon Riolu from them, whose evolutions Lucario is among the best fighting attackers in the game.
Other items: Due to the amount of Pokémon that spawn in a short period during the event, it’s also a great opportunity to earn experience points and stardust. If that’s your goal, be sure to also think about lucky eggs and star pieces.
After the Community Day, there will also be special level 4 raids featuring Sedimantur, which you can only battle on-site. So make sure to have appropriate raid passes and premium battle passes ready to participate in the raid, as well as revives and potions, so your top attackers are ready to go again.

This Mega Evolution is suitable for the C-Day
Why do you need a Mega Evolution? Not only the right items can be helpful during the Community Day. If you want to collect even more candies, it’s best to develop a Mega Pokémon for the event.
If it has the same type as the Pokémon you are catching, you will receive an additional candy for each Pokémon you catch. Since Klang is a rock type, your Mega evolution should also be a rock Pokémon. However, there is currently only one in the game, which is Mega-Aerodactyl.
Is the Community Day featuring Klang worth it?
Is Klang available as shiny? Yes, Klang can also be found in its shiny form in the game. During the Community Day and in the special spawns after the raid battles, the chance of encountering one is even increased. You recognize the shiny by its purple body and orange eye.
How strong is Klang? Klang is a rock Pokémon from the 5th generation of games, which can evolve into Sedimantur and then into Brockoloss. This small Pokémon is not particularly strong itself. However, its evolution Brockoloss is another story.
This one has solid stats and can deal significant damage to opponents with a current moveset of Rock Slide and Meteor Beam. For this reason, it is one of the best rock attackers in Pokémon GO.
The event charge move Meteor Beam can be learned by Brockoloss during the Community Day for the first time. This move does even more damage compared to its previous charge move Rock Slide. In the GO Battle League, however, Klang and its evolutions do not impress.
Who should take advantage of the Community Day? The Community Day featuring Klang is interesting for all players looking for a strong rock attacker for raids. It makes sense to evolve Sedimantur into Brockoloss to secure the new charge move. Additionally, shiny hunters will find great value in this event.
Due to the shortened hatch distance for eggs, it’s also advisable to put 7-, 10-, and 12-km eggs in hatchers. And the candy bonus is also impressive, as it applies to all Pokémon you catch during the C-Day.
You can also play raids or trigger a mystery box if Klang does not interest you. Just be careful not to activate any incense at the same time, as both cannot be active simultaneously.
