This Saturday, October 12th, the Community Day featuring Knacklion will take place in Pokémon GO. We will provide information on start time, Shinies, the exclusive move, and tell you how to make the most of it.
What is the Community Day? This is a monthly event centered around a specific Pokémon. This Pokémon spawns more frequently in the wild and can also appear as a Shiny. Additional bonuses enhance the event.
In October, it’s all about the Ground-type Pokémon Knacklion. You will find it spawning more frequently for 3 hours.

Pokémon of the Day: Knacklion
Exclusive Move: Earth Power (exclusive for Libelldra)
Bonus: Triple amount of experience points for catching Pokémon
Bonus: During the Community Day, Knacklion will hatch from 2 km eggs and appear in raids
Bonus: 3-hour incense
Additional Bonus: To learn the exclusive move Earth Power, you can evolve Vibrava until 4:00 PM
This is important regarding the times: While the Community Day took place in the afternoon during the summer, it has been back to the morning since September. The bonuses are available from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time.
How to make the best out of the Community Day
Focus should be on: This time, there are again triple XP for catching Pokémon, so you might reach a new level here.
Each Pokémon can yield around 1000 XP with the right throw and a lucky egg. If you’re also leveling up friendships at the same time, a lucky egg is definitely worthwhile.
In addition to experience points, you can also gather a lot of Stardust during the Community Day because the spawns are increased. So also use a star piece to maximize your dust collection.
How to catch many Pokémon: Especially on Community Day, the catching trick is very useful. This allows you to skip annoying animations and save a lot of time.
Shiny Knacklion, Vibrava, and Libelldra
Is there a Shiny Knacklion? As usual on a Community Day, this time the event Pokémon is also available as a Shiny. Knacklion is teal and easily recognizable.
What is the Shiny chance? Within the 3 hours, the Shiny chance for Knacklion is increased. It is at 1 in 25. So if you play actively, you can catch many Shinies.
Libelldra with Earth Power – Is it good?
How strong is Earth Power? This move is the best Ground-type attack in the game. Libelldra will become significantly better with it. However, it can’t keep up with the best Ground attackers. Groudon and Stalobor are still better.
Libelldra will catch up with them and offer a good alternative. How can Libelldra learn this move? It must be evolved into Libelldra by 4:00 PM. The move can only be learned through evolution. It cannot be learned through TMs or later evolutions.
How to find Knacklion with 100% IV in your box
This is how searching goes quickly: If you don’t have much time for sorting during Community Day, you can use the evaluation system to your advantage. Just enter “4*” in the search bar, and all Pokémon with 100% IV will be displayed.
If you enter “3*”, you will find all Pokémon between 82.2% and 97.8%. You can safely discard all other Pokémon.
These are Knacklion with 100% IV: In the wild, Knacklion can reach a maximum of 1092 CP. This would be an example with 100% IV. If you benefit from the weather bonus, it can even reach 1183 CP.
Here there is a weather bonus: Knacklion is a Ground type, so it benefits from a bonus in sunny weather. You can catch the Pokémon at level 35 instead of the usual maximum level of 30.
These items you should have with you
- Lucky Eggs – 6 pieces
- To take full advantage of the triple XP bonus, lucky eggs are worthwhile. This way, you can even get six times the XP. Make sure to have 6 with you, as one lasts only 30 minutes.
- Star Pieces – 6 pieces
- You can gather a lot of Stardust if you use this item. This gives you 1.5x the dust, and if you go hard, you can easily make over 100,000 Stardust.
- Incense – 3 pieces or more
- It’s best to play in places with many PokéStops. Here you can use incense and get even more spawns.
- Poké Balls – At least 200 pieces
- You can’t catch Pokémon without balls. So make sure to gather a good supply beforehand. Knacklion won’t always be easy to catch, so you should also have Ultra Balls and Great Balls on hand.
