The Community Day for May in Pokémon GO has been announced! Next month is all about the Fire starter, Torchic. We will tell you everything about the date, bonuses, and shinies.
In May, the Community Day features Torchic. It was expected that the Fire starter would come, as every other month a starter Pokémon is part of the Community Day.
The bonuses are definitely worth it, as there is triple Stardust.
Community Day in May – Date and Bonuses
When does the Community Day start? The date was already known in advance. The event starts on May 19 and runs again from 3 PM to 6 PM.
These times apply to every time zone. So the Community Day starts worldwide at 3 PM.
These bonuses are available:
- Triple Stardust when catching Pokémon
- Incense lasts for 3 hours
- Torchic appears more frequently in the wild
- An exclusive move (likely for Blaziken) will be available during the event period
What move can be learned then? The move is usually only announced shortly before the Community Day. If Niantic stays true to their line, then Blaziken will probably learn the move Blast Burn.
Other Fire starters were already able to learn this move during past Community Days.
Shiny Torchic, Combusken, and Blaziken
Is there a Shiny Torchic? Niantic has already announced Shiny Torchic. You will have the chance to catch the shiny form of the Pokémon for the first time at the event.
How do the shinies look? With Torchic, you have to look twice, as the shiny is hard to recognize. Its two colors have simply been swapped. Its body is slightly lighter while its headpiece is a bit darker.
