What information is new? In Pokémon GO, the date for the C-Day in January 2023 was already announced in November. It is now also clear what bonuses you can expect during the event and which Pokémon will be in focus.
What kind of event is this? A Community Day in Pokémon GO works in such a way that one Pokémon is in focus and is accompanied by bonuses. Together the whole thing is then active for a few hours on one day during the weekend each month.
Community Day in January 2023 – Start, Bonuses, Raids and Shinies
When does the C-Day in January take place? On Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time.
Which Pokémon is in focus? The focus of the event is Igamaro. It belongs to the Grass type and comes from the sixth generation of games. Its evolutions are Igastarnish and Brigaron.
Which attack? The exclusive attack for the C-Day in January 2023 is “Flora-Statue” of the Grass type. It deals 100 damage in trainer battles and 100 damage in gym and raid battles. If you evolve Igastarnish during the event or up to five hours after, then Brigaron will learn the charged attack “Flora-Statue”.
However, it is still not among the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO:
What bonuses are there?
- Double catch candies
- Twice the chance of XL candies when catching Pokémon for trainers level 31 and above
- Eggs placed in an egg incubator during the event will hatch four times faster.
- Activated lures during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Activated smoke during the event (except for daily adventure smoke) will last for three hours.
- Take some snapshots during the Community Day – a surprise may await you!
- An additional special trade (i.e., maximum of two per day)*
- During the event, trading costs 50% less stardust.*
- (The bonuses for the additional special trade and the 50% trade cost reduction are active from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time. The other bonuses are active from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM)
Special research: For a price of about 1 €, you can buy a ticket for a special research again. It is called “Stately Spikes”.
Bonus raid battles: On the event day, after the C-Day, from 5 PM to 10 PM, special raid battles take place. The level 4 raids will bring you battles against Igastarnish.
If you defeat the Pokémon in raids, wild Igamaro will spawn near the defeated gym for 30 minutes. The raids can only be fought with raid passes and premium raid passes. You cannot join the raid battles with remote raid passes.
