Pokémon GO has announced the Community Day for February 2019! It’s all about Swinub. We will show you the date, the shiny form, and the bonuses of the day.
The Community Day in February will certainly come as a surprise to many players. It revolves around Swinub, the Ice and Ground-type Pokémon. Starting on this day, you will also have a chance to get Mamoswine for the first time. In addition, you will receive a large amount of Stardust as bonuses within the 3 hours.
Community Day January 2019 – Date and Info
When does the Community Day in February start? On Saturday, February 16, you will have 3 hours as usual to take advantage of the event. The Community Day runs from 11 AM to 2 PM.
What does GMT+0 mean? Anyone who has closely followed Niantic’s announcement will have seen that the start time is set at 10 AM. However, this applies to the GMT+0 time zone. In Germany, we are in the GMT+1 zone, which is why it starts at 11 AM.
What are the bonuses?
- Triple Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Incense lasts 3 hours instead of 30 minutes
- Swinub will appear more frequently in the wild
- Trainer battles will reward 5 rewards per day instead of just 3 on the Community Day weekend
- You can earn up to 5 Sinnoh Stones on Community Day
Will there be Mamoswine? Niantic confirms that you will have the chance to get Mamoswine for the first time on February 16. This Pokémon can then be evolved from Piloswine using a Sinnoh Stone.
What move can Mamoswine learn? As with every Community Day, there will be a special move available in February. However, the move that Mamoswine can learn is not yet known. It is usually announced a few days before the Community Day.
How to get the move: In order for Mamoswine to learn the special move, it must be evolved on Community Day by 3 PM at the latest. Niantic has provided an extra hour for this. The event ends at 2 PM, while the special move can still be learned for another hour.
Shiny Swinub, Piloswine, and Mamoswine
