The Community Day in February with eF-eM starts on February 5, 2023, in Pokémon GO. All the information about bonuses, shiny and the event content is summarized here.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day takes place regularly once a month, always on a weekend. For several hours, a single Pokémon is in focus, appearing everywhere in the wild.
In addition, you get an increased shiny chance for the Pokémon as well as an exclusive event attack. Furthermore, the Community Day comes with additional bonuses.
Today, on February 5, 2023, the Pokémon eF-eM is the focus. We summarize everything important about the event here.

Here you will find all tasks and rewards for the special research with eF-eM.
Level 4 Raids: Starting at 5:00 PM local time, after the official event, you can still find eF-eM in level 4 raids until 10:00 PM local time. However, you can only challenge them on-site, not via remote raid pass.
If you defeat eF-eM in this raid, additional eF-eM will appear within a 30-minute radius of the gym. The shiny rate for these eF-eM is then as increased as during the “normal” Community Day period.
Who benefits from the Community Day with eF-eM?
Can eF-eM be shiny? Yes, eF-eM can be shiny on Community Day and can be encountered with an increased chance. If you evolve it, UHaFnir can also be shiny.
If you are a shiny collector aiming to expand your collection, you are at the right place on this Community Day.
Are eF-eM and UHaFnir strong? Unfortunately, the Community Day is mostly something for collectors, as neither eF-eM nor UHaFnir play a role as attackers in Pokémon GO.
In the list of the best raid attackers in Pokémon GO, neither of them has a place, and they are negligible in PvP as well.
Who is the Community Day for? Overall, the event is especially worthwhile for collectors. eF-eM was very rare for a long time, particularly the shiny version. Additionally, evolving UHaFnir costs a total of 400 candies.
Consequently, the event may be interesting for some players, even if the Pokémon is not particularly strong, especially those who have not secured eF-eM and UHaFnir yet.
Additionally, it is also worthwhile to take advantage of the stardust bonus, which is needed for leveling up, and the triple amount per catch is beneficial.
How to make the most of the Community Day with eF-eM
The right Mega Pokémon: There are already double candies for eF-eM. However, if you have the right Mega Evolution active, you can earn even more candies per catch.
eF-eM is a Flying and Dragon type Pokémon. Therefore, the following Mega Pokémon are worthwhile for bonuses:
- Mega-Charizard X
- Mega-Charizard Y
- Mega-Pidgeot
- Mega-Aerodactyl
- Mega-Ampharos
- Mega-Grovyle
- Mega-Altaria
- Mega-Dragonite
- Mega-Latias
- Mega-Latios
So you have a wide selection of Mega Evolutions to choose from.
Make room: If you want a lot of candies, you need to catch many eF-eM. Therefore, you should create space in your box.
Use the filtering feature: Enter search terms like “0*, 1*, 2*” to display your monsters with 2 stars or less. These may be candidates for sending away.
Which items are worthwhile?
- Razz Berry: Worthwhile to get even more candies when catching
- Star Piece: Gives you even more stardust per catch, but it only lasts for half an hour. Therefore, use this time wisely for catching if you use one.
- Incense & Lure Module: Incense brings extra spawns while moving, while lures bring them when you stay at a PokéStop. Both last for 3 hours during the event, just don’t activate them too early.
- Balls: If you want to catch a lot, you also need many Poké Balls. Ideally, you should have 200 to 300 balls on reserve for the event, so you won’t run out. Especially Ultra Balls can be worthwhile here to quickly and efficiently catch eF-eM.
During the Community Day, the last day of the Rocket takeover in Pokémon GO is also happening. Giovanni has Crypto-Registeel on the team – but is it worth it? Here you will find all the information about Crypto-Registeel in Pokémon GO.
