In Pokémon GO on April 23, there will be a Community Day. Niantic has now revealed the details of this event. Included are a new Pokémon and an adjustment to the duration. We at MeinMMO summarize all important information for you.
What does the Community Day in April bring? The big highlight of the event is the new Pokémon Velursi from the seventh generation, which will make its debut on this day. You can catch it in the wild and even get it as shiny with a bit of luck.
Additionally, there will be a Special Research that you can purchase for 1 Euro. There will also be some bonuses, including:
- Triple XP when catching
- Double Candy for catching
- Double chance for XL Velursi Candy for catching Velursi
- Incense lasts for three hours
- Smoke lasts for three hours
- Every trade during the event costs 50% less Stardust
- During the event, you can perform an additional special trade
- Exclusive stickers when spinning PokéStops and opening gifts
- If trainers catch enough Pokémon attracted by a single incense, the number of experience points awarded for catching Pokémon near the relevant PokéStop will increase from three times to four times for 30 minutes.
When does the event take place? The Community Day in April starts on Saturday, April 23, at 2:00 PM and remains active for three hours. The event will end at 5:00 PM.
Thus, Niantic is adjusting the duration of the event back to the time before Corona. Back then, the event only lasted three hours, but was extended to six hours due to Corona measures. According to Niantic, few players participated in the event for longer than three hours, which is why this adjustment is being made.
Velursi appears as a special Pokémon at the event
What kind of Pokémon is this? Velursi is a small, four-legged Pokémon from generation 7. It has the types Normal and Fighting and will learn an exclusive move during the Community Day if you evolve it within two hours after the event ends. You will need 400 candies to evolve it.
As Kosturso, it will then learn the Charged Attack Ableithieb. Niantic writes about it:
Also new in Pokémon GO is the Charged Attack Ableithieb, which can give Kosturso a special advantage in terms of defense!
– Trainer Battles: 20 damage and the user’s defense is guaranteed to increase
– Gym Battles and Raid Battles: 50 damage
What else does the event offer? In addition to the bonuses and the Special Research, you will be able to buy an event box in the shop for a one-time price. This costs 850 PokéCoins and contains 15 Ultra Balls, 15 Razz Berries, 1 Premium Raid Pass, and 1 Remote Raid Pass.
