In Pokémon GO, the community event is coming up in June. The special Pokémon on this day is Larvitar. Its evolution, Tyranitar, will learn the move Smack Down.
Why is this Community Day so important? This Saturday, the Community Day will start in Pokémon GO. This will be especially significant because Tyranitar can learn the powerful move Smack Down. This makes the Rock attacker even stronger and a MUST-have for dedicated trainers.
We will show you what to expect at the Pokémon GO event in the overview.
All Bonuses for the Larvitar Event – Community Day
The Community Day will attract many trainers again in June. During the event, Larvitar will spawn more frequently in the wild. Its evolution, Tyranitar, is already popular as an attacker in raids. With the new move Smack Down, it will become even stronger. Additionally, there will be triple experience points for trainers catching Pokémon during the event. The path to level 40 will be a bit easier for many trainers.
Smack Down Move
During the Community Day in June, Tyranitar that you evolve or catch will be able to master the Rock move “Smack Down”.
What makes this special? So far, the exclusive moves of the Community Days have been charged moves. Smack Down is a fast move. This means that your Tyranitar does not have to forget the strong move “Rock Slide” to learn Smack Down. Instead, Smack Down and Rock Slide can fit into one moveset.
For many trainers, this Community Day is therefore the most important event of its kind so far. Trainers want to have Tyranitar with the Smack Down move as frequently as possible in their collection.
We therefore recommend that you absolutely catch or evolve Tyranitar during the Community Day so that they can master this move. Tip: Tyranitar as a raid boss also knows the Smack Down move after being caught. Fast or Charged TMs will not teach exclusive moves during the Community Day.
Shiny Tyranitar in Pokémon GO
During the past Community Days, trainers have caught shiny forms of the Pokémon of the day.
For this reason, it is believed that the Larvitar family will also appear in its shiny form during the Community Day. However, this is usually confirmed only shortly after the event starts when the first trainers have caught the shiny monsters. Niantic has never made an official announcement about the Community Days.
So far, the shiny families of the following monsters have been featured during Community Days in Pokémon GO:
Larvitar Max CP and IV Values
The following overview shows possible 100% IV Larvitar. Reddit user Zinfogel uploaded the graphic and shared it with the TheSilphRoad community:
Please note that these are only possible 100% IV Larvitar. If the monster has a higher level but lower IV values, it could have the same CP.
Preparation and Tips for the Community Day
To fully take advantage of the increased experience points during the event, you should pack Lucky Eggs and plenty of Poké Balls.
- Balls: Bring many Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls. This way, you can collect a lot of experience points.
- Lures: They last for 3 hours during the event. Find a spot with many PokéStops and activate them there to catch many monsters.
- Incense: Activating incense during your hunt will increase the number of Pokémon encounters. This increases the chance of shinies, as you’ll find more Larvitar.
- Star Pieces and Lucky Eggs: Since you’ll want to catch as many Pokémon as possible during the event, using Lucky Eggs for more XP and Star Pieces for more dust is worth it.
Tips for Trainers
During these events, the community takes center stage. Recent events have clearly shown that these special monthly occurrences are popular and many trainers participate. Therefore, you will likely meet many other players in parks or popular meeting places in your neighborhood.
Make the most of it! A great opportunity for you to network and form raid groups.
