In April, the Community Day event starts for the fourth time in Pokémon GO. This event takes place once a month and is popular within the Trainer community. On April 15, special Voltikram and its evolutions will be waiting for you.

4th Community Day Start – With Shiny Voltikram?
The fourth Community Day will begin on Sunday, April 15, in Pokémon GO. The event will be active from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM German time and rewards you with special Voltikram. During the event, these monsters are expected to spawn more frequently. Additionally, one of the evolutions can learn a special attack.
If you evolve Voltikram’s evolution Waaty to Ampharos during the event, it can learn the dragon attack “Dragon Pulse“. Keep in mind that Ampharos must be evolved or captured to learn the attack. Quick and Charged TMs will not teach exclusive attacks during the Community Day.
Chance for Shiny Ampharos?
During the past Community Day events, Niantic rewarded participating Trainers with Shiny versions of the special Pokémon and their evolutions.
After evolving these shiny monsters, the evolutions will also be shiny. Based on past events, the community expects that Voltikram and its family will also appear in shiny form. We can only confirm this after the event starts.

- What? 4th Community Day on April 15
- When? Starts at 11:00 AM – Ends at 2:00 PM
- Bonus: Lure Modules last 3 hours instead of just 30 minutes – Due to the Kanto event possibly even 6 hours.
- Bonus: The distance to hatch eggs will be reduced to a quarter. A 10KM egg will then require only a distance of 2.5KM to hatch. Important: You need to place new eggs in an incubator for this. Eggs that were already in an incubator before the event do not count.
- Monster: The special Pokémon of the day is Voltikram. The exclusive event attack Dragon Pulse is not learned by Voltikram itself, but by its evolution Ampharos.
- You need to catch an Ampharos during the event or evolve a Waaty to Ampharos to learn the event attack Dragon Pulse.
Important preparations for the Community Day in April
Many Trainers will be outside on Sunday and gather at popular meeting points and gyms to play together. Dress in weather-appropriate clothes and check the weather forecast before you head out.
Additionally, there are some preparations to make in the game:
- Poké Balls – Lots of them!
- Having enough balls with you is a must for such an event. It’s best to collect Poké Balls, Super Balls, and Hyper Balls in the days or hours leading up to the event. If you have around 200 in total, you should be well-equipped.
- Lure Modules and Incense for even more monsters
- Since Lure Modules last 3 hours during the event, it’s worth using them. Incense will attract even more monsters and make the most of the spawn rates.
- Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces
- If you are using the event to gather experience points, use Lucky Eggs at the same time.
- With Star Pieces, you will get even more Stardust. Especially useful because the eggs hatch extremely quickly.
- Pokémon GO Plus
- The Pokémon GO Plus is a great helper during such events. The high catch rate of Voltikram (50%) makes using the electronic helper worthwhile. It also helps with more accurate GPS location.
- Incubators
- The focus of the 4th Community Day is the significantly reduced distance to hatch eggs. By then, you should have many incubators on hand to make the most of the bonuses. But wait for a potential shop offer.
- There may also be special offer boxes in the Pokémon GO shop for this Community Day. If that’s the case, they will likely be filled with incubators. So, wait to purchase the incubators until potential offers are available.
