Trainers, there is reason to rejoice. The developers of Pokémon GO introduced a new event that will take place every month from now on. On a specific day of the month, there will be special Pokémon to catch and bonuses to take advantage of.
The Community Day strengthens the bond among trainers and also offers you Pokémon with special attacks that should enhance your collection. That’s why collectors will love the Community Day
Community Day January – Start
The monthly Community Day event makes a special Pokémon appear more frequently around the world on one day. If you catch this Pokémon during the event, it will have a special attack. Additional bonuses of the events include extra experience points or Stardust. Lures will be active for three hours.
The idea behind this event is that trainers meet with other players from the community in local parks to share their passion and play Pokémon GO together. The first event of its kind will start this month.
The first Pokémon GO Community Day will take place on January 20, 2018. The event will run that Saturday from about 11:00 AM to about 2:00 PM German time.
- The special Pokémon you will find more often on this day is Pikachu. The mascot has already accompanied Pokémon GO trainers at many events. But at this event, it will not wear a special headgear as usual, but will have a new attack.
- If you catch Pikachu during the event time, it will know the move “Surfer”.
- Additional event bonuses include:
- Double experience points
- 3-hour lures
- Keep in mind that these bonuses are only active from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
