When does the Community Day Classic start? The event takes place on June 22, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. So you can spend three hours collecting Cyndaquil.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day Classic works similarly to a regular C-Day, only that it brings back a Pokémon that had such an event in the past.
This time you will encounter Cyndaquil everywhere in the wild. As usual, you can expect a significantly increased shiny rate. Additionally, there are a few bonuses that we will list here.

Who should consider Cyndaquil in Pokémon GO?
For fighters? If you are looking for a strong attacker in Pokémon GO, neither Cyndaquil, Quilava, nor Typhlosion are really powerful options. Typhlosion with Flamethrower is okay as a fire attacker in raids or gyms, but there are stronger alternatives. Also, in PvP, the three Pokémon are not particularly impressive. For collectors? Cyndaquil has been in the game for a long time, so most of you probably already have it. But for those who don’t have the shiny variant yet, this is a great opportunity to catch the shiny version.
Additionally, you can also use the candies from the Community Day for your Hisui Typhlosion, if you have that.

What you should note: Since the event “Smoldering Steps” is currently happening, you also have the chance to benefit from a shortened hatch distance for your eggs. Therefore, it can be worthwhile to combine both events and plan some walks.
How do I prepare for the Community Day Classic with Cyndaquil?
Make space: As always, you want to bring a well-organized Pokémon collection to such an event. It’s annoying to constantly check which Pokémon you need to transfer because your box is full when you actually want to catch a lot of Cyndaquil.

Which Mega Pokémon do I need? If you activate a Mega Pokémon, then one that also has the fire type or one that brings bonuses to fire types in other ways. This way you get more candies and XP when catching. Use:
- Mega Charizard X
- Mega Charizard Y
- Mega Houndoom
- Mega Blaziken
- Primal Groudon
What items do I need? Depending on the bonuses, several are recommended.
- Balls: You always need enough of these to catch a lot. Read here how to get more balls.
- Incense and lure module: Both last for three hours during the event. Use incense if you are on the move and the lure module if you are staying in one place to attract Pokémon.
- Razz Berries: Always good if you need more candies.
- Lucky Egg and Star Piece: Both are useful if you want to further increase the XP and stardust bonuses.
So use Saturday especially if you are missing shiny Cyndaquil (or the regular variant), need candies, or are trying to find a four-star version as a collector.
