In Pokémon GO the Color Festival has been on the agenda since March 8th. We show you what happens in the event.
When does the “Color Festival” take place? The Color Festival started on Wednesday, March 8th at 10:00 local time. It runs until Tuesday, March 14th at 20:00.
You have just under a week to take advantage of the event bonuses and collect the event spawns.
The Color Festival is the first longer-term event of the newly started season “Rising Heroes” in Pokémon GO.

Color Festival in Pokémon GO brings new Pokémon, Shiny-Colorbeagle, and more
New Pokémon in the Color Festival: During the Color Festival, you can encounter “Knirfish”. This colorful fish monster is of the Water / Psychic type and comes from the seventh generation. It cannot evolve, and the Shiny version is not available in Pokémon GO for now.
New Mega Pokémon: Also new is the Mega Evolution of Meditalis. You can challenge Mega-Meditalis in Mega Raids during the Color Festival and secure energies for the Mega Evolution. You also have the chance to encounter the Shiny variant.
Shiny-Colorbeagle active: To encounter Colorbeagle, you must take snapshots. Colorbeagle will first appear in the photo and then in the wild. The Shiny version of Colorbeagle will be reactivated for the Color Festival, so you have the chance to encounter the shiny version with some luck. Important: After the event, the Shiny version will be deactivated again. You can only obtain it for a short time.
Additional bonuses for the event: There are a few additional bonuses during the event:
- PokéStops offer a “Colorful Surprise”
- Incense lasts for 3 hours when activated during the event
- Collector challenge brings 20,000 XP and an Incense
- Friendship levels increase twice as fast.

- Choreogel comes in Flamenco style, Cheerleading style, Hula style, and Buyo style. Which one you encounter depends on the region. In Europe, the “Flamenco style” is active.

Moreover, there will be some suitable contents in the shop, such as the “Color Throw Pose” for your avatar, which you can purchase there.
At the same time, another event is running during the Color Festival period that is not directly related: On Saturday, March 11th, top raids return to Pokémon GO.
These are particularly difficult raids that can only be challenged locally. Throughout the day, there are three time periods in which you can challenge them.
