In Pokémon GO, the Color Festival is coming up. This mainly brings you the opportunity to obtain one of the rarest shinies in the game.
When does the event take place? The Color Festival 2025 starts on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM and ends on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
In addition to some monsters, a shiny debut, and various bonuses, you can look forward to the chance to snag one of the rarest shinies in the game, provided you have a bit of luck.
Color Festival 2025 – What to expect
Which shinies are available? During the event, you have the chance to get Color Eagle in its shiny variant. You can only encounter Color Eagle in snapshot surprises. Regularly, the shiny variant of the monster is disabled. You can only obtain it in specific events like the Color Festival 2025.
If you are missing this shiny and really want it, you should make use of the event to take some snapshots and hope for the shiny variant of the monster.
Additionally, you can encounter Chewle for the first time in its shiny version during the event. You will find the monster in the wild during the event.
Which Pokémon are available in the wild? In the wild, you can encounter the following monsters during the event:
- Hypno*
- Magikarp*
- Natu*
- Chimecho*
- Meditite*
- Wailmer*
- Flabébé (Red Flower)*
- Chewle*
- Flabébé (White Flower)* (rare)
- Flabébé (Orange Flower)* (rare)
All Pokémon marked with a * can also be encountered as shiny.
Which Pokémon are in raids? If you complete raids during the event, you can find the following monsters:
3-Star Raids:
- Finneon
- Jolteon
- Flareon
5-Star Raids:
- Kapu-Riki*
Mega Raids:
- Mega-Swampert*

What bonuses are available during the event? The Color Festival features several strong bonuses that are active during the event.
- Lures last for 3 hours when activated during the event
- Incense lasts for 2 hours when activated during the event (does not apply to adventure incense)
- Incense attracts more Chewle
- Snapshot surprises can attract shiny Color Eagle
Additional content of the event: There will be a free, limited-time research task that you can complete during the event. This will reward you with 1 incense, 4 special candies, and encounters with event Pokémon.
Additionally, there will be special field research and PokéStop showcases during the event.
For $2 (about €2), you can also purchase a paid, limited-time research task. Here you will receive 2 lures, 4 incense, 2,000 stardust, and encounters with Chewle.
