In the code of Pokémon GO, 100 Pokémon from the 2nd generation and hints about a popular Pokémon have now been found!
The developers of Pokémon GO are taking another big step into the future of the game. In the code of the latest Update 0.45.0 of Pokémon GO hints of Pokémon from the 2nd generation have now been found. The transformation Pokémon Ditto is also said to actually be in the game now. Previously, modders had already displayed the Pokémon in the game in July.
2nd Generation in the Pokédex of Pokémon GO
As reported by TheSilphRoad, there are 100 new Pokédex entries in the game code. These range from #152 Chikorita to #251 Celebi. So far, not all data (the move set) for these Pokémon have been programmed into the game, which means that another update will be necessary to display these Pokémon in the game. Presumably, these Pokémon will be announced during a big event and integrated into the game. Possible dates could be, for example, Christmas or the birthday of Pokémon GO next year. However, these are just speculations, as there is currently no official date for the release of the 2nd Generation Pokémon.
Hints of Ditto sighted in Pokémon GO
Another interesting discovery in the game code is a new ability. It is the first new ability added to the game since the release of Pokémon GO in July. This ability is called Transform and is a quick ability (not a charging ability and not a special attack). TheSilphRoad reports that Transform is now present in the GAME_MASTER file (the settings file for the main game) and has its own animation, but is also found in the APK code. Unfortunately, there is no further information on how to catch a Ditto or whether a possible event is forthcoming.
