What is it about? On February 20, 2020, the Kanto Tour event starts in Pokémon GO. Many trainers are looking forward to it, because during the event day there will be many shinies to see – even 7 new shiny Pokémon will be added to the game. Those who purchase a ticket can now decide for one of the two event versions. You can choose between the colors red and green.

Choosing event version now possible
How does it work? If you start Pokémon GO now, it is possible to choose an edition.
- Start Pokémon GO
- Open your inventory via the Pokéball
- Scroll down until you find the blue ticket
- Tap the ticket once
- A text window will open, at the end of which you will find two green buttons
- Select the version you want to use
- Confirm that in the next step again
- Now you are ready for the event
Keep in mind that you can only choose the version once. So make sure beforehand which color you decide on.
What differences are there between red and green? The version choice affects which spawns you receive in the wild through the incense module. In addition, the chances of certain shinies increase depending on the choice of edition.

So it mainly depends on which Pokémon you definitely want to catch during the event. Make your selection based on that.
If you are linked with a group in Pokémon and regularly trade Pokémon, it is beneficial if you use both the red and green versions within the group. This way, you can exchange the shinies that others have missed.
