In Pokémon GO there are now further changes in the game during Corona. The two latest ensure that you have to walk less. PokéStops and buddy Pokémon have been changed.
What’s new: On the evening of March 27, a lot happened in Pokémon GO. From now on, you can raid comfortably from afar. The remote raids help trainers so that they no longer have to walk to hotspots like gyms, but can play from a safe distance. This avoids the issue of crowds gathering because of Pokémon GO.
The two latest changes revolve around PokéStops and buddies. PokéStops now have a larger radius, and buddies can fetch gifts for you. Both changes ensure that you have to walk less and maybe even play Pokémon GO without leaving the house.
Changes to PokéStops
What has changed: Niantic informed the trainers that the radius for interacting with PokéStops has now been increased. To be precise, the radius has been doubled. This is supposed to match the distance at which you can also interact with gyms.
It seems that this change did not reach all trainers by midday on April 28. They are receiving error messages when spinning the stops. Certain regions or player groups may be gradually unlocked.
Buddies now fetch gifts – How does that work?
What has changed: Your buddy Pokémon already have many interaction possibilities. Now they are even more useful for trainers.
Buddy Pokémon now frequently venture out to stops and gyms nearby, bringing gifts from there. You can then send these gifts to friends on your friend list.

Here’s how it works: Choose a good buddy Pokémon that should accompany you on your adventures.
Regularly, it brings you gifts from stops. In the game, you will see the buddy with a symbol above its head when it has found gifts. The good part is that multiple gifts will be brought at once. The number can vary. In screenshots in the community, we saw at least 3 to 10 gifts that a buddy brought at the same time.

What else has changed? The game also extended the “Special Bonuses” with increased incense effectiveness, more gift openings, higher gift storage, and half hatch distance. In the game, it is stated that these bonuses are supposed to last for another 33 days.
