In November, the Día de Muertos takes place in Pokémon GO. For about a day, there are bonuses on candies and incense, special costumed Pokémon, and other event content for you. We will show you the overview here.
What kind of event is it? The Día de Muertos is a holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico and other parts of America to honor deceased friends and family members.
In Pokémon GO this year, it is celebrated with costumed ghost Pokémon, candy bonuses, a collector’s challenge, avatar items, and changed spawns.
Contents of Día de Muertos 2022 in Pokémon GO
When does it take place? The event starts on November 1 at 10:00 AM and is active until November 2 at 8:00 PM. That is from Tuesday to Wednesday.
New Pokémon: For the first time, you will encounter Zwirrlicht with a Cempasúchitl crown. This also includes Zwirrklop and Zwirrfinst with a Cempasúchitl crown. With a bit of luck, you might even find Shiny Zwirrlicht with the Cempasúchitl crown.
What bonuses are there? For the “Día de Muertos” event, three bonuses are active:
- Incense used during the event lasts for 90 minutes
- Incense lit during the event lasts for 90 minutes (daily incense will not be extended)
- For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candies
Collector’s challenge: During the event, you can complete a collector’s challenge. You will be rewarded with an Alolan Marowak, a Snubbull, and incense.
Avatar items: With the avatar items, you can dress appropriately for the festival. Even after the event, you will still find the items in the shop.
What Pokémon can you find? The chances of spawning Pokémon are even increased in Latin America and the Caribbean. In the wild, you can encounter

- With luck, also Zwirrlicht with Cempasúchitl crown*, Driftloon*, or Makabaja*
In incense and lures, you can find:

Field research rewards you with encounters of:

In raids, you will encounter:
- Level 1: Zwirrlicht with Cempasúchitl crown
- Level 3: Dragoran, Zoroark*, Shardrago*

- Mega: Mega-Banette*
Pokémon marked with a star (*) can also be encountered as Shiny.
