In the code of Pokémon GO, two new monsters appear that fans are excited about. A data miner used a trick to make the 3D models visible.
This discovery comes as a surprise to many trainers: a data miner found the 3D models of two more special Pokémon in the code of Pokémon GO. Whether it is already time for a new hype is hard to say. So far, not all the necessary conditions for the release of the two monsters in the game have been met.
Celebi and Ho-Oh found – A trick makes it possible
On Reddit, user Chrales, a PoGODev data miner, presented the 3D models of Celebi and Ho-Oh. He obtained the images by tricking the game into thinking that his Pokédex allegedly stored Ho-Oh and Celebi as “captured”.
When this trick worked, Chrales was able to render the 3D images of the new Pokémon. Ho-Oh exists in its normal form and as shiny. However, a shiny model of Celebi was not found.
Note: The gender icons under the Pokémon are a byproduct of data mining. The three should not appear with different genders in the game.
The finding of these images does not mean that the three can now be released in the game without further updates. Crucial conditions are still missing. As Chrales writes, the 2D icons (for example, the preview images in the Pokédex – “sprites”) have not yet been incorporated into Pokémon GO.
Only when the 2D images are in the game can we speculate about an imminent release.
How strong are Celebi and Ho-Oh in Pokémon GO? Boss CP and Catch CP
Using the Raid Boss formula, which calculates the maximum Boss CP and Catch CP of the current bosses, we can draw initial conclusions about the strength of Ho-Oh and Celebi.
- Ho-Oh – presumably Tier 5 raid with a maximum of 48276 Boss CP
- Maximum Catch CP: 2222
- Celebi – presumably Tier 5 raid with a maximum of 37733 Boss CP
- Maximum Catch CP: 1766
